  1. well u can say that this is just an invitation to treat... But i dnt see it that way... coz this is more in the misrepresentation situation... this is THE gvt website for the ceypetco.... where e can get information on there sales and market values.... most probably the best source....soo they are telling us in a way that the fuel prices are still the same.... yet what we heard only from tvos that the prices have gone up... so u can argue on that regardless of the country.... Cremdean Properties Ltd v Nash... But yeah u r probably correct... who else will go that much to do such thing... and for the world's end i think its now considered as postpond due to some technical difficulties.....
  2. Nice to see two of my votes are being held in the lead except for that night race thing..... but its also really annoying thing.....

    Car Audio Problem

Since the thread starter has posted the last post on August i think by now he must have found the answer to his problem... but from previous posts and history i highly doubt that he understood.... so anyway i'll state it clean.... when u get some notice or problem like that friend... that means theres NO solution for that instead changing the whole player and replacing it with a locally available one/.... Because if u want to get rid of this message u have to insert the japanese gps disc in to ur system.... then also it will be loading japanese map which has no use here in srilanka...... or even if u get really smart that u flew to japan and got a map of sl... still all the controls and languages will be in japanese...Then also no use of it..... hope atleast u got it now....
  4. EP91 is the limited four wheel drive edition rite...???
  5. AFAIK in the old category system.. those who have c.c1 can drive motor cars and dual purpose vehicles... Normally in the past dual purpose vehicles were vans and pickups... but now even the D*MO battas and crew cabs come in under P numbers... so u can drive them also.... currently c,c1 refers to K category and P category... but i dnt know for sure about the vehicles registered before K series and P series.....
  6. AFAIK the three letter number plates are still for trishaws only... but theres a word going on that it'll come upto other numbers as well coz even in the car category also its now KX is registering.....
  7. In discovery turbo they showed in a fifth gear episode recently how much truoble they had to face when driving the new nissan all electric car for a certain road trip i n in uk...... its still i primitive stage.. or might be not... but to us srilankans it always is.... Hybrids are a different category... yet i dnt like to talk about that though...
  8. I don't really bother about fuel prices as I have no control over it... In fact the gvt it self doesn't have control in it... although i found this as funny because someone has asked about the price of 95 octane... so when i searched..... the website as usual hasnt updated... If this happpned in some other country we can sue them or can ask the fuel for the above mentioned prices..... But this is La La land!!! http://www.ceypetco.gov.lk/Marketing.htm hope inserting the link won't create any forum rules issue...
  9. I can also recommend him coz once i did an engine tune up from him for my suzuki swift.... i first went to a place near narahenpita police station and that place was bad... but this guy did a nice job... a very recognizable different happened to the car... good luck with that!
  10. If u wanna bmw car go for something like 523i or 520D and if u want a proper bmw suv go for something like bmw X5.... why go for wagons in different names....??? Plus i really dnt like the look of it....
  11. Even the closest friends or relatives get altered their own thoughts after seeing the vehicle we import.... Speaking of own experience.... Never go for a permit and that also specially from a stranger coz that is one head ache..... believe me... the vehicle will be somewhat pleasing as its brand new and in my case it was a good japanese vehicle.... but other than that its a headache... U cant sell it when u like... u cant transfer until 3 years..... so many... and also the risk is always there... and its a totally personal Matter..... If ur upto it.... U can make it a reality... but if u r just trying....or doing to see it works... FORGET it.. i also replied ur message
  12. I dnt get it... U r saying that the percentage is reduced directly form CIF value and not from the tax percentage rite? So even according to that after the tax is levied the rest of the Tax percentage is calculated according to the new scheme rte? But i thought the permit is to reduce the taxes on the vehicle to a certain amount... not an amount from the cif value...
  13. As of my experience, those who have ordered vehicles under Govt permits or any other ( apart from those miserable tax free permits) and have already opened LC's to the name of their perspective seller's country bank, will also have to pay the taxes under the new scheme if they have not cleared the vehicle from Sri lanka Customs at the port by 31st March 2012. So it will be the reduction of the taxes according to the vehicle engine capacity and according to the permit as per the new percentage of increased taxes. For dummies For ex: If the tax reduction is 30% as per the permit, and the previous tax rate is 120% value of the vehicle, and if the new tax rate is 275% value from the CIF value, then the reduction will be from 275% - 30%... Correct me if im wrong but hardly this is the ugly truth... Only relief is that ur permit Does not get cancelled if u have already opened the LC., and fi ur not by now... then thats also at stake...
  14. As for the policeman who stops me few months back, drivers need to keep their both hands on the steering wheel unless they are changing gears.... So the speaker phone also becomes an offence... Headset, or bluetooth headset will be a good option..Or if u are up for an arguement just hold the phone while u are holding the steering wheel also, then theoretically your both hands are on the steering wheel so u can say u r abiding the law... ;-)
  15. As u have not mentioned specifically the kind of work u need i don't know whether this be of any help... But for bumper repairs and kind of fibre works, i can recommend Chamara fibreworks near Mirihana police station...
