Whats the diference in the Japanese Swift and the Indian Swift models (2005 and above YOM).

How can you identify the difference.

Is the difference in the availability of transmissions or parts.

Not sure on this but they only make the mannual swift in india, I think. But both cars should be the same except for the transmission but there is a big difference in price which cannot be just the freight cost.

I don't know if things have changed recently, but A*W used to bring down Auto only from Japan and manual only from India. I don't know if there is a manual Jap version (which then maybe available recon) but certainly it wasn't available brand new from A*W.

A friend of mine had checked out both and went for a Jap one because he said the interior of the indian was quite shitty

Also interior is different. You get a better interior in Japaneese version. and there may be a difference in engine capacities as well.

Iam sure the price of the Indian Swift is less than the Japanese one New or Registered.

Do the agents bring down any of the Indian Swifts to SL.

Will be interesting to see how much a B/N Indian Swift will cost.

I'm sure you can reach them by telephone and find out. If such a thing interests you.

Quite a lot in fact :)

VVTi engine, trip gauge, fuel warning, Dash integrate CD player missing in Indian models. Interior is better quality in Jap (obviously!)

Indian 1.3 L old generation engine, manual tranny, Jap 1.5 L new generation engine, auto tranny

I think the new Indian Swifts come with a newer K series engine.
