Shelby Mustang Cobra In Sri Lanka

So Jr gets to drive around cars waiting to be converted? Does that increase the value of the car?

I was thinking just that. What role does the conversion company play in the re-selling process? Coz if they only do the conversion then the buyer (meaning who ever want the conversion done in which ever country the converted car is exported to) will not be too pleased to see his car been used while awaiting the conversion.

No but it increases the value of the Conversion Shop owner to Sr.

hahaha spot on

This car has no number plates on top of that its a left hand drive.... and the cops does not seem to have any issue with it.

But the moment we ( the common man) dont have the revenue licence pasted on the windscreen the buggers can see that from miles away !!

Dont be harsh on Jr cos think he baught this vehicle out of his fathers hard earn money and namal baby has given his MP vehicle permit for this project too

calculation will prove how they have earned money for the car

1977-2000 MP salary (Avg. 25,000 * 12*23) 6,900,000/-

Priminister salary (Avg 58,000*12*5) 3,480,000/-

Presidents salary (125,000 * 12*6) 9,000,000/-

Thanks for your enlightening info, but it has already been established that the car wasn't purchased by anyone in SL.

no, no... it hasn't been "used". that was a "test drive" to see how it handles, and then after the conversion there will be more test drives to confirm that the handling etc is as good as it was before :P

What exactly is the deal with this car? Amid all the talk of it being here for conversion, almost 6 months later I saw it exiting the petrol shed near Town Hall two days ago. And it was still Left hand drive, still running without any number plates, and was driven by some guy in a driver's uniform while there was a (looked) teenager in what looked suspiciously like a Royal College jersey in the passenger seat

Could this have been brought down as a promo for the new Ford showroom that is opening next to mitsubishi showroom?

Well it did look exactly the same (at least, it said Shelby on the back) :P No idea if the guy was actually a royalist, but if it's the same car then it most definitely has not left the country :) The car wasn't tinted in any way, and didn't have any escort though.
