interestingly, in australia (and maybe other countries as well), if someone who is in front of you in an adjoining lane signals to enter your lane, you are supposed to give him right of way. of course, in those cases people pretty much only change lanes when they need to, not because they are doing "wettu"

Also in those countries the person who thus gets in front of you will get a move on at cruising speed : here the guy who gets in front of you will almost always travel @ half your previous speed. :violent-smiley-099:

Add to that, there you get another interesting thing called the 'hook turn'. In that, you suppose to wait at the left most lane in an intersection if you are planning to turn right. And on signal, you have to cross all lines and make your turn. Imagine if we had that here :angry-smiley-048:

yeh, but that's only at intersections that have trams passing through. if we had that here I guess people would figure out pretty quickly that it's not funny to crash into a tram...

(however, there are people who can't deal with the hook turn and refuse to drive in the city, or just avoid those intersections!)

Yes mate, March 23rd this year President drove a Merc (Not a bullet proof) down parliament road without escort and nearly hit by Min Muralitharans reckless back-up Defender. It is reported that defender purposely tried to hit the Merc driven by the President. Im not gonna tell you all where the PSO and Constable driver ended up the same night.rolleyes.gif
