Import Tax Charge For A Vitz 2008

Hi

Can a expert give me a rough estimate on the import tax including VAT for a Toyota vitz 2008 1300CC

Regards

Toyota Vitz, about 4000km, costs about 14 lacks in Japan. If it is 2008/11 then the depricaition you will be getting is 80%.

The duty would be 10.50 lacks. If it is 2008/06 then you will get a dip of about 75% and the duty will be around 10.25 lacks.

If you import yourself after getting a proforma invoice it will be cheap.

If you you buy it from a car importer it will be costly bec they will keep their profit and they have to pay 2500 rupees per each one hundred thousand spent on the vehicle + 1% BTT. Hope this is helpful.

Hi I need FIRE DRAGON'S expert advice as well how much total duty to you think I will incure on this vehicle http://www.tradecarview.com/used_car/japan...-trail/4483133/

its a nissan x-trail new shape 2007 mode and its $15,520.

Also how much will this model cost in Sri Lanka? Since the tax has been lowered do you think it'll be cheaper to buy the 2007 import rather than buying a X-trail 2005 which will cost you about 48laks.

Btw is blue permit the permit which allows you to bring in any vehicle? how can you acquire one of these?

Normally a car under the 3.5 yrs and a van of under 5 yrs can be imported to sl.

If you are abroad and has a car or a van which is over the age limit you can bring it under the blue permit scheme.

You should have the car in the foreign country in your name for over 1yr.

The advantage is if it is a 6yrs old vehicle you get the maximum depriciation.

However, under the present duty scheme old vehicles are handled under a different HS where you dont get the benifit of depriciation.

Blue permits are issued by the import controllers office, Hemas building, Bristol Street, Colomobo 01. Chk their web site.

I dont know wheather the scheme is still active.

I think KSP92 is the 1000cc Belta. So your Agent valuations are for the Belta 1000cc and Vitz 1000cc, Isnt it? 1300 vitz is SCP90. Do you have the agent valuations for SCP90 and perhaps even the 1500cc Vitz RS, model no NCP91?

Not an expert on the vehicle models or chasis no.

If you give me the chasis no i can tell the duty.

What I have given is the total duties applicable for different age groups.

So what is the duty on 1300cc Vitz? Its the SCP90 and not KSP92 as you have guessed. You have given values for the 1000cc Belta (KSP92) and 1000cc Vitz (KSP90).

Whats the duty for the following chassis no's

1300cc Vitz - SCP90

1500cc Vitz RS - NCP91

Hi Fire Dragon,

I can see that you are an expert on duty estimates!

I am looking to get down a 2007-2008 Mazda Axella (I think the chasis model is BK5P) or a Subaru Impreza (chasis model: GH2 or a GD2). Appreciate it if you could give an estimate on the total duty and other taxes.

Cheers.

If you have a permit you can do the importing yourself instead of going through a dealer who is going to keep about 7 laks for him self!

yeah thats right about importers... i know that coz i know a importer who imported an allion, kept 9 lakhs and sold...
