Yes aruguments are good as long as its done with the correct spirit and with in the context... :jumping-smiley-014:

Any how loosing bit of performance .. and geting some thing like 9Kmpl is ok. If the current average service cost me 7K and if I did 4 services for a year it's cost me 28K and with other stuff like tune up lets make it 50K. In comparison what would E36 will cost.

Depends on the mileage you run... whats your annual mileage like?

The arguments were for the most part within context, and Lets leave the moderating to Peri shall we? :)

If I take my daily run it'll be only 320Km per month. If I come colombo once a month it'll be maximum 600Km per month. So annual mileage would be 7200Km. Lets say 8000Km

Sorry mate, my bad. But why the sudden insecurity about the capability of a EK3? BMWs were never meant to be Little boy's toys... The EK3 is.. ideal for little boys with a lot to prove. Mostly to themselves... and to some tuition girls coming out of some tutory.

Neda machang? ;)

100%

...

Second, The six pots don't sell for a much higher price than the four cylinder cars, which means (As has been stated earlier) that if one is patient, one can pick up a good example for well within MkX's budget, which makes them a fair comparison. This is also a FACT.

...

Clear enough for you? or do you want me to double space and use bigger fonts or something?

This shows how much you know about cars...!! What is advertised for 5 million is a E46.. and not a E36..!. The 318i that was sold for 1.6 mill was an E36 (1997). Need help taking that foot out of your mouth..?

Edited my post to insert the link below. It might help to identify the various models, in the 3 series.

Service intervals are longer, original parts are more durable etc.. Basically you get what you paid for. I serviced mine along with a ATF change last week and the bill was 48K. But then I will not be servicing again for 12 months. Yes, it's expensive to maintain.

Machang what's included in this serivice? just the basic filters, oils and liquid???

Just to Comment on the Apples and Oranges argument I can comment on the E46

Standard Options on any E46 would be :

6 Airbags, ABS with Stability / Traction Control, All 4 ventilated Disk brakes, Heated Rear view mirrors, Individual Programmable Remote Keys (ie - each key remembers your tuned radio stations, Rear view mirror positions, if you have electric seats - your preferred positions ...etc.e.tc) Valet Key (that wont open the Boot and cubby) Height adjustable front lights, 6 speaker audio systems - most with 6 cd changers 16" wheels (alloys and steel) minimum size. And the service intervals are for Diesel - 16000 kms and Petrols - 25000 kms(Facelift). Automatic climate control, Automatic heated rear window, First aid kit under the seat, hazard triangles ...etc

Options would include

Electric Rear Roller Blind, Onboard trip computer with fuel consumption available range ..etc ..etc, Multifunction steering wheel with cruise control, Xenon Interior lights, Electrochromic (self adjusting) rear view mirror, Ipod integration, rain & light sensors with auto lights and auto wipers, self leveling xenon lights with integrated washers, Blue tooth phone integration with charging / signal boosters in the bumper / voice recognition / voice dialing, park distance control ....etc etc, Real Myrtle wood trim

The average standard BM will have at least 6 - 12 processing units (computers) in the car liked together using their own protocol called I-bus - excluding the main ECU that controls the engine.

Generally with BM's you wouldn't talk about A/C, Power steering / central locking / Power windows / Power mirrors because its a given that all of those are there.

Find me a civic that can have that many standard factory accessories, not to mention the options.

By the way the add for the E46 is actually a 4 pot facelift 318i which is std at 143 BHP. Fuel consumption on the facelift 318i is a minimum of 8.5 in colombo and about 12 outstation and the engine is actually a 2000cc

Cheers,

What are you talking putha?

Civics come with Beat barrel, 300Kg Bodkit, 7 foot tall rear spoiler (for a FWD car), under pan neons, MP3 Player, extra beat barrel, lime green interiors, etc... :)

Just an observation MadMMX. Most e46 diesels were imported on permits. This include even later models like the 2004 facelift which i use. Therefore people have added a lot more options to these cars because of the lower investment cost. Petrol cars generally have lesser options (there are few fully loaded ones). But most fully loaded ones are diesels. The car advertised for eg. has only 6 airbags, when most diesels, including mine has 8. Also the interior looks very bland

none of this shit would have happened if it wasnt for a certain super natural retard trying to generalise a comment made by me on a specific car.

hmm... I thought you had a problem with name calling and personal attacks? Weren't you the bloke who started howling that people run out of reasoning and resort to name calling? I wonder what this qualifies as.

how lame of you to think i don't know the diff between e36 and e46. the point taken from the said advertisement is not da diff between e36 and e46 but da price diff between 4 cylinder and 6 cylinder engined beemers. you had made a general statement about price diff between 4 cylinder and 6 pot beemers and when i prove that you are wrong then you try to specialise your original general comment in such a desperate and pathetic manner. the irony here is that the very man who misinterpreted my original comment by generalising a specific comment is now having to do the opposite to save his sorry face. are you going to tell me similar E46 318i (4 pot engine) is advertised for for 5 mil too? what a looser!

don't bank on retarded findings by bugatti. like you he is also the same kind of a joker who felt that in another thread that mazda3 is not slower than axela even while former is 10hp down on paper. funny enough his proof is the subjective feeling he has got while driving the cars - what a scientific way to gauge performance, good for him. no point trying to reply the nitwit comment that brings up e46 vs e36 on an argument that is to do with price diff between 4 pot and 6 pot beemers.

the hat seems to fit and hurt some more than others. i wasn't name calling, it really takes some super natural retard to generalise a comment made about a specific car to misinterprete facts.

Grow up mate...! you were comparing the 4 pot of a E36 Vs the 6 pot of E46..!! trust me, I have been hunting BM's for the past one year, I have checked out most of them. Price difference ain't much. Joke is on you.
