Below are the figures for all three of my family Vehicles. All figures are with Air conditioning on the entire time. 95 Octane used on all three vehicles mainly because it shows a significant increase in mileage in all three cars and all three run smoother than on 90Octane

Transmission Type : 4 speed Automatic
Engine Capacity : 1493cc
Fuel : Ceypetco 95 Octane

Vehicle : Mazda BG3S Hatchback 1990 JDM
Transmission Type : 4 Speed Manual
Engine Capacity : 1323cc
Fuel : Ceypetco 95 Octane
Km per Ltr (city/long distance): 9-10 City, 14.5 Outstation (No Tachometer to monitor RPMs :speechless-smiley-004: )

Fuel : Ceypetco 90 Octane

Km per Ltr (city/long distance): 7 City, 12 Outstation

Vehicle : Mazda BJ3P (2000 model Bought brand new from Carmart)

No idea mate, so far that's the best I was able to achieve. I don't think i would be able to achieve anything more than that. May be switching off A/C might help.

Prius is powered by its engine when cruising at above speeds and the consumption may become comparable to that of a Premio. Switching off AC will not save much but if you dare to cruise your Prius at 40kmph on the highway you may get a better mileage. On the other hand, if you do a fair comparison of consumption in the city Prius will make a more significant difference.

Transmission Type : CVT
Engine Capacity : 1330cc

No point of mentioning fuel figures for a Prius on highway for a short trip like 100-200km.on highway the "effective" fuel figures might me 35kmpl. how?

simply it will give better figures when it is driven by the electric motor. figures will not be so good when battery is being charged.

then, to have better figures you should have "not that good" figures.

Car - Alfa Romeo Giulietta

Engine - 2.0 JTDm2 Diesel Turbo 170bhp.

Gearbox - TCT 6speed (Twin Clutch Automated Manual)

YoM - 2012

Km/L - 10.5 in Colombo mostly in traffic. Highway - never really checked but feels like a lot. Maybe in the region of 14 or 15 is my guesstimate.

And my previous,

Car - Alfa Romeo 159

Engine - 2.2JTS Petrol 185bhp.

Gearbox - Manual 6 speed

YoM - 2007

Km/L - 7-7.5 in City traffic. 9-11 on long trips depending on where.

I'm enjoying the huge saving on my fuel bill. :)

what do you meant by "Effective" fuel figures?.

Ex: someone decide to save 100 rs per month from his salary. but in one month he had to lend 75 rs to a friend, due to that he was able to save only 50 rs.

next immediate month he will be able to save 100 + 75 rs.

if he is a Prius owner he will say that he saved only 50 rs in the first month (just like fuel figures in highway).

but in fact he has saved 50+75 rs in the first month. but only 100 rs in the second month.

for the first month "Effective value" is 125 rs, but actual value is 50 rs.

for the second month "Effective value" is 100 rs, actual value is 175 rs

just forget , i was just kidding!!!!!!!!!!!! :speechless-smiley-004:

Thts because there's one giant snake in your premio. It comes factory fitted with most premio owners.
it's not the meter display calculation, it,s manual calculation

Indicator on our premio once only showed me a figure like 21.5kmpl in southern highway and rest of the time, it ended around 16 - 17.5kmpl.

Like VVTi said, there can be calculation errors

Check this Top Gear video (

) you can see a BMW M3 does better in fuel economy than a Prius when u driven then as fast(above 120kmph)
