Fuel Efficiency

Hey!

There’s been a couple of posts asking members how efficient various vehicles are on fuel. And with the prices going up by Rs.8/= and with news in the air that it will go up again by another Rs.3/= soon, its getting even more important…

So what do you say we post the following details

Vehicle : 1997 Nissan Sunny FB14

Transmission Type : Auto

Engine Capacity : 1500cc

Fuel : 90 Octane

Km per Ltr (city/long distance) : 8km/ 10km

Yeah my sunny drinks petrol like a bitch... no thanks to the exhaust and a few things here and there... :o

Km per Ltr, City : 8 (on a gud day)

Long Distance : 10

the sunny has a carb problem to be sortd out hence the low figures

Long Distance : disapointingly only 8.8 (i'm wondering if its cos i did a pretty rigourous drive to matara this time when i did the calculation)

Well...The STi on a good day may do around 6km and the GTR around 5km or so...and thats running 95 octane only... the Lotus on the other hand is bloody awesome.. we did a colombo - Bentota Beach run and it only consumd 14 odd litres... and thats going and coming back...

that wasnt too hard was it? :action-smiley-060: those r sorta the figures i expectd...tho i expectd less from the GTR n a wee bit more frm the REX...

Well the REX is running a 1.2 bar boost and with the 3" catback i kinda expect those figures... The GTR aint that bad until i change the boost on that too and when u push it hard u can literally see the fuel meter dropping... so its the price u pay for speed i guess...

Never tested with 95 octane. probably never will, at this rate :action-smiley-060:

ahhh figures...definitly...its like peter parker's uncle once said "with great power comes great fuel consumption"

still gud figures cos i knw a certain 2L x-trail dat does 6...no mods n no turbo...jus a bit of a load on the driver's side :action-smiley-060:
