maybe the new bond is a shitty driver..remember he rolled the car in the last flick...i know i know the girl was in the way but the brosnon bond would have jumped over her using hyper boost or nano boost or summin....

i heard that he didn't know how to drive a manual until he got on the set of Casino Royale! :o

Overall, I'm disappointed in the Daniel Craig version. He spends far too much time chasing people around on foot. Where are the car chases?! For all the hype about the car chase scene, its damn short. Even the boat chase was better. Remember Brosnan chasing a car around in a Tank? No gadgets except for that computer system from Minority Report that everyone is ripping off. And the cellphone. But where are the laser watches and grappling hooks? Of course, it is an early Bond, so his tech can develop. Leaves a large plot hole about the affinity for the DB5, but ... And he keeps getting beaten up. Brosnan would have come out of those fights without a smear on his Tux.

He's just not smooth. That was the essence of it. Gotta be smooth.

i think its safe to say that all of us are missing the gadgets and Brosnan's suave charm & finess!

Anyone here that Puff Daddy wants to be the next James Bond? Like an African American James Bond?! Why can't these Americans come up with their own super-spy story. Maybe the Felix Leiter chronicles or summin? :)

I watched Casino Royale on Friday for the 3rd time and I have to say that I think Dani Craig is super. I think it's a sign of the times. He's more masculine, Tough etc. Appeals to the modern audience.

I never liked Brosnan - the image of Remington Steel never left me. And he's extremely poor in Golden Eye, the Z3 doesn't help the cause either. ;)

Of course he improved with time and his best performance was Die Another Day.

Didn't get beaten up Peri?? How about in the North Korean camp in Die Another Day where he came out looking like John Lennon in his Love guru days!?

And c'mon Peri there have been so many Bond's with hardly what you could call a car chase.....

But I'm all for P Diddy as the new Pheelyx Lyter  !!

couldn't wait till it hit the big screen so watched a decent camera copy, but was rather disappointed with the movie as a whole.. :(

no gadgets worth of mention and Bond doesn't..... i'll not say it n spoil things..

yes the chase was up on some twisty bits...

Why is it that one hardly sees anything other than the usual diet of Evo's & Sti's on the track thesedays?!

must have been quite a sight to see RX's and Legacy RS's!

were these RS's the 1st gen Single turbo's or the 2ng get TT's?

How clear was the dvd Dev? Worth breaking my anxiety?

Good question about the races. I guess it could be the easiest route to power and the 4wd cars require the least skill as well.

Yes it was an awesome site. There was an MR2 as well that came in last! Can't recall all the other cars as we were on the edge the way the Mini kept taking one car per lap and over took the leading Lagacy on the last corner of the last lap. The crowd went bersek as you can imagine! This small odd looking Mini taking on and beating such newer cars!

Ist Gen RS Legacys driven by ######## Weerasinghe and Cassim Wahab. One of the RX 7s were driven by Manapperuma snr if I remember right!

the dark night was one of the better films of late - quite gripping for a mass mkt flick

i think i may have stumbled onto one of those 2 cars - currently lying in a very sorry state in a well known garage on the road which connects the Kotte - Hokandara junctions..

i prefer the good ole days when it comes to most things so i'm not quite for it, even though, as tough guy , Craig is good - and its not something Brosnan would have been able to pull off even if his life depended on it!

Well, your right in the cars early cars for Brosnan being a bit of a gripe. But I did like Remington Steele too, so that English personna was ok for me.

And he didn't come out of the Korean camp looking beat up, he just came out like a Hippe. Craig spends half the movie running around all cut up and bloody.

And to be honest I haven't watched them all, so I can't remember if all had car chases. But if there are gonna be car chases, it should be better than the ones in the last two. Casino Royale lasted barely a minute, after all the hype about the DBS being the new Bond car, and this one didn't really make up for it. I dunno, maybe its a budget thing. Cheaper to film him running after blokes on foot than filming car chases. Besides, Ford probably didn't like other brands getting any face time. I swear he drives that Ford SUV more than the Aston in Quantum.

Oh yes agreed the chase in Casino Royale was a joke. And what's really annoying is how FoMoCo scatters their products as if there are no other cars in the world. Its way to obvious. So annoying - went OTT in Die another Day and then vcontinued in Casino Royale as well. And now you tell me about the Ford Edge

Not sure that budgets could be a problem as they crashed 12 DBS in Quantum!!!!

In Quantum the chick was to drive a Fiat Panda initially, but Ford bulldozed it out and put the Ka in instead. But getting the 159s is a better compromise I'm sure :)

But Brosnan did get tortured like crazy in Die Another day...... where they used scorpions wasn't it?

Yes Dani Craig is a bit hard to get used to with all that blood. And lacks the sauve Britishness, he's more football hooligan than SPY. But perhaps more realistic and what most people want to see. After all Sean Connery's given him a thumbs up! Maybe it's marketing.

For me though Dalton was the best. Cold, Very British, A bit mysterious, tougher than Brosnan, cooler than Craig, Funnier than Connery but not the comedian that Moore was! But there you have it. Many critics rate him as the best but I don't think Joe Public in the US and Asia really gelled with him. They want Craig bleeding every minute and running like a train.
