The Polizia have taken delivery of a brand spanking new Lamborghini LP560-4. And while it'll be used for various publicity events, it is destined for full service in the Italian police force - note the fully kitted out dashboard.

It won't be a mere panda car, with high-speed motorway use its specialty. As well as chasing down crims it comes complete with a defibrillator and the ability to transport emergency blood transfusions, making it a potential lifesaver, too.

It's not the first Gallardo to make it into police service - the Rome police force has ran an original-spec car for over four years, clocking up almost 87,000 miles while another baby Lambo has been used in Bologna since 2005, boasting over 62,000 miles. A bit of blue-light service seems to have proven the reliability of these modern-day Lamborghinis - can you imagine a Countach clocking up the best part of 100k miles of high-speed chasing?

The LP560-4 will begin service with the Lazio Highway Police Department 'in order to continue accident and crime prevention to sustain security on the Italian roads

New Cop Car Designed For Cops, By Cops

policecareu2.jpg

The Carbon Motors E7 is a new police cruiser that addresses safety and performance issues neglected due to the current practice of retrofitting Crown Victorias/Impalas.

Right now fire departments, emergency medical technicians, the military, and even mail carriers all use vehicles built specifically for them. But the USA's 800,000 law enforcement first-responders drive dangerously retrofitted family sedans.

The E7 is being hailed as THE purpose-built vehicle for police officers. It was designed to jump curbs, safely detain criminals, be fuel efficient (40% more than current cruisers), and detect biological, chemical and radiation threats. In total, it has over 100 new features specifically requested by officers. Unfortunately, not a single one is a cup holder in the back.

China's Death Buses Deliver Executions

65oig7.jpg

If you're a criminal in China, you'll want to avoid its new death buses, vehicles that carry out executions while streaming live video of them, then provide some privacy for organ harvesting.

The buses, of which over 40 are currently in use, are replacing firing squads as China's preferred method of execution. The buses provide a setup for lethal injections, and the acts are carried out on streaming video so local authorities can observe and ensure that everything is done legally.

Critics say that the buses help the government secretly harvest organs to sell to the west, as there's already a doctor on hand to administer the injection and they never show the bodies between execution and cremation.
