Was Prabakaran At Bombed Location?

Well everything is a possibility but what matter are the facts. Sounds like a yet another very well organized propaganda stunt from the Chinthanaya and the Co. Before all the patriots get excited I’m refereeing to the news article about praba's assassination not about the camp X ray.

The way I see it is, this news was given wide publicity to give a glimpse of hope about a brighter future to the suffering people. Since some of the educated members in the forum did end up taking the bate I don't even want to think about the mindset of the rural Sri Lankans.

Regarding Mini's comments on every bomb hitting the bull’s eye, well who's there to point out that it didn't. Lake House publications, SLRC????

Well the US used more advanced stuff to bomb Tora-Bora in Afghanistan still the enemy survived. What can 24 buck buster do? It’s not as if LTTE camps are made out of mud and clay.

I think the patriotism is clouding the better judgment.

xXx …few golden rules for you to learn.

Just like Ripper said Credit where credit is due.

Don’t be so Pessimistic. Have some hope. That little hope will keep you going

Don’t just stand back with your hands in your pocket. If we cant go up there and fight the enemies , at least get your arse up, show some respect and give some courage to our guys. If you cant then please keep quiet.

You know what …your derogatory post made almost all the members sick.

There are some guys arguing that how can we get pinpoint accuracy with 70’s technology. The theory of sonic velocity and forces generating in object moving with the same speed were invented in 1800 by Lord Frondtl.

But shooting to accurate position and s sonic jets are two different technologies. It is simple, if you have bomb and its operating instrument (hi-tech), it can nut and bolt to plane dash board and give the battery power. Then you can feed the target point on the earth (xyz). So it needs only the point at where the bomb needs to be relied.

So it needs jet velocity, coordinate at where it flies. Then it give signal to pilot “ok now push the button” when the plane moving close to the trajectory. It does not need any info from plane computer because it is old and plane is going in zig zag , but it has inbuilt GPS to calculate all the details and feed the signal to plane computer through USB(2000) to RS232(1970) converter

Ruwan

Mate, the avergae bunker buster can penetrate up to 3 meters of reinforced concrete. I think 24 of those will do a hell of a lot of damage, since some of them were 1000kg bombs.

I think anti government propaganda is clouding your better judgement.

Only prob is, it would have been a massive waste if there were no VIPs at the camp.

Thank you very much for your valuable advice.

First of all I never discredited SL army or AF. All I said was the government was opportunistic and cunning to drag praba's name in to this, in a bid to misguide and give false hope for people who shed their sweat and blood to fund this war.

Secondly I know these bombs are very destructive. As I mentioned above remember what happened in both Afghanistan and Iraq. Their bunkers were so secure with all of USAFs might they failed to wipe them off. I’m sure the tigers too have very secure bunkers and they too use the surrounding geography to their advantage.

Mini, if a bomb falls in a no mans land in the middle of the thick jungle no one will give a damn. But at the end of the day that’s our tax money gone to waste.

And regarding end of LTTE after praba, well Hamas was a much more spiritual organization when their leader Ahmed Yassin was assassinated in 2004 people lined up to step into his shoes.

All I’m saying is we are fighting a war we can’t ‘afford’. Weather we can win it or not we’ll see it in the very near future. The war has become a get rich scheme for many people including top military officials. Government is hipping things up to hide their failures like the anuradapura attack and the killing in south and also to justify this war.

Whatever the technology, only thing we expect is to hit right at the target. Let me wish our brave pilots who dont hesitate to fly at lower altitude and trying their best to get rid of blood thursty praba.

Guys, everyday i wake up the the optimistic dream to see the head line "Velupille Prabakaran is killed"

If you are so worried and wants each and every bomb to fall on a terrorist head, this is not the kind of war you pay for and the country you want to be.These kinda bombing I have seen/heard only in hollywood movies  .Try to avoid /cheat tax as much as possible...this way you'll feel good or else join SLAF.Send me a CV if you are under 22yrs..will help you out!! :)

You all need to take a chill pill.

My point is media is suppressed and biased in this country so it is hard to believe news broadcast through some of the government owned media. I never said that every single bomb should hit the target.

I’m not a war analyst all I’m saying is mistakes can and do happen. People of this country have a right to know about both ups and downs.

Mini, thank you for the career advice but I think I’m better off doing what I do now.

Yes AF is recruting IT specialists as direct entry officers.recently a batch of officers were enlisted and undergoing basic combat training now.The basic requirement is an IT related degree accepted by SL UGC.You are correct about the UAV project.Im sorry cant talk about it in a public forum. Its not only happening 'within SLAF' Im sure you know some details about it.

you win some you loose some, that's a fact of these battles....important thing is to win the war :)

Let's hope our SLAF and all SDLF boys get to finish this scourge off this planet :)

then politicians also won't have an excuse to complain about and cover their f'ups :)

The word is that we have got three new hinds for our fleet...and they were in three nice boxes in the port.... some think they are the Mi28's :)

I'm on the opinion that it might be 35's maybe with some new toys like night vision and better weapons systems etc...

Comment only if it's in public domain :)

cheers

Helis go scheduled overhaul on flown hours and calendar dates. We have many 24 and 35 varieties. But not the 28s.Again 28s are big white elephants.Add on equipments are mostly from approved manufacturers not from the original company. Most add-on s carried out after overhaul-delivery-in Sri Lanka.Weapons mainly from the original manufacturer except for very few Mi 35 models.

tamilnet has finally found out about the raytheon's sale of their latest fancy radar system to sri lanka :)

This is it ...

High-tech Canadian radar sold to Sri Lanka

[TamilNet, Monday, 28 January 2008, 12:46 GMT].

This was given a good publicity by Raytheon and Canadian Govt sometime back.Thats how terrorists came to know.Anyway this is one-of-a-kind Radar, can expect good results.

Yep...read quite a lot of info on these radars :) seems like their range and ability to pick up smaller radar signatures seems to be the key thing...Raytheon didn't have too much of info on the one sold to SL, assume this is a 3d variant...

On hinds

the 28 looked pretty cool on many you tube videos and so was the the twin main rotor kamov :)

and i thought we never shipped the whole helo for overhauls but only the main components via air freight...

anyways...as long as the birds are in top spec ensuring safety for our boys ans utter destruction for the baddies :)

28s lost to Ka-50.Couldnt secure any export order yet.All trials with Russian Army failed.Russian AF demanded many changes to controls and fuel system.By 2015 they are expected to fullfil all demanded changes to make the fleet 300+ (if im not mistaken).Untill suchtime she remains in white Elephant attire!
