Hey, Last Saturday 10th on Udawalawe Bund 148kmph - Toyota Axio 2008. Had to give-up more speeding due to wife's crying :sad-smiley-050: :sad-smiley-050:

Thilak

Awesome. You da man! Instead of just killing yourself you're taking your loved ones too!

And speeding on a bund; you take it to another level man! You can not only crash into a stationary object like a tree or a bridge rail, but you can also roll down the bund at 140kmph or go the other way and drown yourself and your family. You man took life on the edge to another league!

Until a few months back there was a car (Converted WRX ) parked at Senok which had done something like 250 km/hr. but that's the last run that car did...

Guys were too busy taking pictures and looking at the speedo, than looking at the road.

So the guys survived to brag on the pics later? Or was that the last photography session for some of them?

Reminds me of that story of that Show Off USAF B52 pilot who wanted to show everyone that he can pull tight turns on a B52... seen that video?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UJb08ZzejAA

I do agree..this pilot Col Bud Holland took the aircraft beyond its operational limits ,ended up killing all onboard and destroying a multimillion dollar machine.Holland was one of the most undisciplined USAF pilots and involved in many flying related incidents. He never learnt a lesson.Today Col Holland and this case is often used as an example of cockpit behavior and aviation discipline during aviation training both civil and military.Co-Pilot of that ill fated flight Col Mcgeehan tried to eject the last moment his seat failed.

If you read about the co-pilots story....it's really sad how how one moron can destroy the lives of an entire family. sad.

The co pilot sacrificed himself so that none of his men from the unit had to fly with holland.

Ah you also heard about the story, Yeah Mcgeehan volunteerd to end the moronic flying of Holland when the whole squadron refused to fly with Holland. Some people never grow up, sadly they take good people to grave with them...Story is the same in air and on ground too.

It was well over 200kmph for sure, in fact there was a big A4 sheet mentioning the exact speed, pasted on the car . Btw this was on Galle road,

You read about how during a trial bombing run a few years before the crash he cleared a ridgleine with less than 2 feet to spare? :) Just to show off to a TV crew who shat in their pants and stopped filiming thinking he will do something more stupid.

Sad part is there is a picture of the escape hatch iof the co-pilot just clearing the aircraft before it hits the griund. Now way he had time to complete the ejection with the size of the ensuing the fireball.

Guess its a numbers game whether on the ground or air, if you keep pushing the envelope, one day it will push back and you end up killing or dying or both.
