Audi A6 2008 vs Toyota Allion G 2010

This is a rather unbalanced comparison - the only similarity between these two are the price. The Audi A6 is an executive car and the Allion is a compact  so other than the price it's an unfair comparison. Generally if you don't have the willingness to give that extra effort in maintaining your car I suggest you go with the Allion but finding an honest Allion , without tampered odometers, open papers, and other trickery is your biggest challenge ?  for that price you might also  get a Mazda 3 (~ 2014)

Buy the Audi if you have “extra” time, money and patience to maintain it, it will reward you with a very nice ride (comfort, space, premium interior and performance when you need it) . It looks great too.

Buy the Toyota if you don’t have that “extra” bit of things stated above and it will reward you with a simple reliable way of transport with decent comfort. It will hold it’s value better too.

Two cars from totally different classes.Surely Audi will be miles ahead when comparing with the Allion in terms of comfort, performance, safety, options and most of all the prestiege. But at the same time repairs and maintainence will cost you a lot...really a lot. Also if you are long way away from Colombo maintaining one will be a real headache. No proper mechanics or places to buy parts. From what I’ve seen, most euro car interiors are well built using better materials, but the tropical climate of SL causes cracks on dashboards. Also l’ve seen a BMW 320d with 65- plates had most of it’s interior panels are broken even with less than 100000km(maybe due to the reckless usage).

But if you have plenty of money to spare for the maintainence and repairs the car will reward you like no other japanese econo box.

But if you extend your budget to 4.5mil by taking loans and spending every rupee you earned, better to go for the Allion.

Still if you prefer a well built and comfortable car I can recommend you the 2007-2009 Toyota Camry or a 2005-2006 Toyota Harrier/Lexus RX300 within the same budget. Those vehicles will provide you with more comfort and prestiege than an Allion while being extremely reliable.Only downside is both of them have 6-7kmpl fuel economies.

Cheers
