Head Light Repair

SMadu

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I need to get repaired the head lights of my car. I checked for a solution in this forum but could not find the exact thing what I'm looking for.

Even though I found many posts regarding the head lights cleaning, what I need to get done is to repair the head lights. The reason is after running in rain I can see the vapor /  water drops at the inner surface of the headlight cover.

Could someone recommend me a better place to get this repaired.

Vehicle : Honda Civic ES8 Facelift model.

Sorry if I'm re-posting something which had already being discussed here. If so, please direct me to that post

Thanks

If there is a crack on the lens (even a hairline one) then you are pretty much out of luck.

You might want to check if any of the rubber grommets/seals are undone or worn out. If worn out...try to get the grommets/seals replaced. If the back body of the headlight is broken...then some people fix it up with various materials (seen people use everything from no-leak to silicone filler). If the seals are worn out then you can use the same to seal it up.

I had a similar issue in one of my ES8s headligh assemblies, there are still some hairline cracks on the lenses, but a place at Nedimala junction fixed my problem by taking it all apart and re-sealing the unit. Afterwards they applied a wax on the lens to seal the cracks. I know its a temp solution, but it has held up for 6 years now. They charge around Rs1500 per light

Hello all

I just bought a Prado 150 - 2104 model with teardrop set of headlights.

It has the same issue. In one of the headlights , there is little bit of  vapor /  water drops at the inner surface of the headlight cover. There is no any crack visible.

Pls let me know a reliable place. I want a good place knowing that they will disassemble the headlight for the job hence needs to be in safe hands.

@ rukmaldk - pls let me have contact number of the place you visited for the job.

The impacted area is marked in red below.

Pls help

I'm sorry to hear it mate! Hope the damage is not too serious.

Hey man, I really hope the damage is not significant! From my personal experience, I may say that fixing a damaged headlight may unexpectedly transform into a very complicated task (lol). Anyway, I think you should seek some professional assistance from a specialist. Luckily, there are many of them around, and they don't charge a fortune. A couple of months ago, the guys from https://www.vont.com/product/vont-car-smart-strip-light/ installed a smart strip light in my car. Coincidentally, they were also able to fix my headlight issue! Good luck.
