Uneven tyre wear

MalindaG

Question

Hi

I have a Toyota Vios YOM 2003...

I noticed that there is an uneven wear in the front driver side tyre only in some area (not in the whole tyre)... Does any one know the reason for this...?? Is this due to the low quality of the tyre...??

Tyre brand - GT Radial Champiro BXT

Tyre pressure checked regularly, wheel alignment & balancing done...

Get your front suspension checked out. Probably worn out control arm bushes.

How's the condition of your shock absorbers?

Also, are the camber and toe in figures in the wheel alignment report within spec? Excessive positive camber or toe in are the main reasons for outside tyre wear if all suspension components are in good condition.

Hi Davy,

This abnormal wear is only in a small part of the outside of the tyre (as in the 1st photo). As in the 2nd photo, other area of the tyre seems ok...

Is it still could be the worn out shock or bushes...??

I'll check the alignment report and let u know...

Big or small, if there's uneven wear on tyres, then your alignment is off or you have wear in your suspension. So I suggest getting it checked out.
