[update] i just did a bit of digging for you. Also it seems the XBee has a lot more bells and whistles.

Xbee is a bigger car based on New susuki Belino with 1L Engine
Suzuki hustler is based on wagonR

So Xbee is bigger on every way and pricier than hustler - some car sales have both next to each other - you can clearly see the size difference.

Nope...there is nothing the XBee is based on from the Baleno. It just shares an engine. The XBee is based on the same "platform"/"frame" as the Solio/Palette/Ignis, which finds its roots on a widened platform of Suzuki's kei car range. 

The misconception that the Xbee is based on the Baleno comes from the fact that they are both based on Suzuki's HearTect (heart-tech) "platform" (so are almost all of Suzuki's new models launched within the last 2 years or so). The use of the term platform refers more to a platform as in framework/methodology. Not a platform as in a base/chassis.

The heartect platform is like Mazda's SkyActive and Toyota's TNGA platform. It is a methodology/framework on how the car is structured in its construct. I am not too well versed in it...but it has something to do with how the structure of the car is constructed to improve rigidity and structural integrity. SkyActive/TNGA of course goes to the extent of how everything from the suspension to the engine are integrated, but I don't think the Suzuki HearTect platform goes to that level.

Hi Zinger,

I started a topic on this under news and updates last year. You can read further on Xbee there. 

It is not identical to hustler, but has a similar design concept. 

Major differences to the Hustler :

1. Size : X bee is quire bigger in length and width. Eventually more cabin space.  You feel more spacious compared to Hustler.

2. Engine and transmission : Xbee comes with K10 C turbo charged S-ene charged engine.  But Hustler only has s-ene charge. Which is far better compared to hustler in pick up and running.  By default Xbee comes with paddle shift/ triptronic. 

3. Seating : Most of the kei cars are having a big problem of comfort and space of the rear seating. Many new kei models , including the Hustler come with only 2 seats at the back.  Also comfort ability in long travelling is bit questionable.  Contrast to that Xbee offers 3 seats at the back with reasonable travelling comfort.

4. 2WD vs 4WD : You can get 4WD version in Xbee. Hustler also has the 4WD option, but not many fans in SL seem to interest on that. Could be due to smaller engine.

5. Price Tag : 2WD-Xbee is having a price tag of LKR 4.4-4.5 M vs Hustler of 2.8-2.9 M in Sri Lanka.

Already one AL member has a Xbee.

Entire Baleno (both Indian and JDM) car is assembled in Indian Suzuki plant. I am not sure which part come from Japan.  But its badge under the bonnet says it is made in India.  

Interior finishing is far better in Xbee compared to Baleno ( of course it has to be..otherwise  ?)

Yet to see an xbee in real life but on the reviews looks a decently put together car. With the whole crossover effect id say give it some time and it's going to be a hit in SL.

Cross(X) Bee, could be the one of the rare less than 1 Liter Hybrid’s  (Mild Hybrid) or SHVS. it's tax will be about 400K++ than hustler, It's tax category falls under less than 1000cc which is 1250 per cc same as 650cc Hustler.

Hustler is a MPFI - ICE recommended 92 Oct petrol

Cross Bee is a GDI - ICE (Booster-jet) recommended 98 Oct Petrol. (who sells 98 oct fuel in SL)

It's Direct Injection engine, with time inlet values will get clogged with blow by though PCV value, it may be good to install an Oil catch can, to increase the time before cleaning. MPFI in hustler doesn't have this problem.

My better half owns a AWD, Turbo Hustler, it comes standard with paddle shift. Suzuki guys seem to add paddle shift for turbos as standard, for this generation. You can't select 2wd or 4wd on Hustler it's the same AWD system in the Cross Bee. On the FWD Hustler & Cross Bee you don't get the Hill Decent Assist & Grip Control options as standard. Maybe they should integrate the e-4wd system from Hitachi, less complex and available on demand.

XBee  gets the Radar Cruise control (Adaptive Cruise Control) which is not yet available In Hustler, standard cruise is available , it has reverse radar also which is integrated with the breaking system allows to auto break when obstructions are at the reversing side.

Hustler has CVT gear system, and Xbee got 6 speed Manual Auto Shift system, that used in RST, Balino.

If you look closely at the XBee it's a mix of many vehicle parts, suzuki seems to be reusing different parts from different vehicles and scooped up something new

RPM, Speedo and Info Display in Dash taken from - RST, BALINO, same using in the 1.2L Hybrid Suzuki Swift

Door are looks like the have been taken from Hustler form inside out side looks bit different.

Boosterjet Engine taken from RST, Balino.

ISG motor is larger than hustler most probably taken from the 1.2l Hybrid Variant Swift.

Front seats are better on Xbee there is a gap between front two seats and seat are independent and not touching like in the hustler. So you are held better in hard cornering.

On the AWD xbee I saw that it had a Sport mode and Snow mode which is not present in the AWD hustler.

Yes but no...the engine requires High Oct or Premium gasoline in Japan. According to the JIS High Oct and Premium gasoline are gasolines that are 95 Octane or above. So the engines are supposed to work with 95 Octane or above gasoline. The general range for HighOct/Premium has been 95 to 98 depending on the brand (thus different brands had had different prices for highoct and naturally most popular were the lower priced ones which are 95, 96ish octane). Since a few years ago (the last year or two) the octane value has shifted and the more larger brands carry 98 to 100 (which are more predominant in bigger cities), whilst the more common/regional brands still carry 95 to 98 (which are more popular outside of the big cities). Because of this if a JDM car says HighOct/Premium...it has to work for a range of fuel octanes...thus 95 will work

NOTE: In big cities the regional/common brands are almost as pricey as the larger brands because of high overheads (which the larger brand is able to absorb alot better).

Is Hustler 4WD actually a AWD!? In suzuki site it shows as "Full time 4WD"...
