Car rack service Toyota Corolla 121

Question

Hi

need advice on contacts to service the car rack of my Toyota Corolla 121, since I hear some unusual noice on not rough terrain. I heard it’s a usual thing with Corolla, is this true?

Best option is to replace or repair?

Regards

I faced the same problem in my 121 and got it repaired from a place in Udahamulla. Used the car for 2 more years and sold it four years back. If it is just the Teflon bushing then there is no need to replace the rack. However, these cars are now more than 15 years old so a reasonable decision can be made only after an inspection by a mechanic.

As Rumesh said above, it's a car that's over 15 years old, so these things are expected - especially if you drive on rough roads frequently. So it's not something that happens on the 121 alone.

If the issue is due to excessive play in the steering rack, depending on how severe the wear is, you'll have to either repair it (machine the rack and apply bushing) or replace it.
