Anything made by Toyota, RAV4, Land Cruiser (79,80,100 Series will be within your budget) CRV.

Please note resale from your current price will depend on the prevailing duty, availability of duty concession permits in the market, exchange rate ...... which can not be predicted unless you have a crystal ball or a time machine.

Age is not a big concern for me. But resale value Yes.

Well..again....a little bit too vague....if age is not a concern...then you have pretty much everything from a Toyota to a BMW to a Land Rover. What will you use it for ? Do you want diesel ? Petrol ?

At the end of the day the Land Rovers, Land Cruisers, RAV4s, CRVs, Pajeros and Nissan Patrols will sell as long as they are clean and honest cars (i.e. no body swaps with questionable books, properly maintained, etc...). I don't know why but people unfairly look past the Bighorn (probably because it is not that common and they believe parts are hard to come by). Then the old Land Rover Discos and FreeLanders are a bit iffy so people tend to stay away from those.

For 9mil best options are

1. CRV 1.5 would cost bit above 9mil. Comfortable ride with hopefully good resale as lots of vehicles to come in to srilanka within next few years. Specially once its introduced to japan. Fuel economy 7kml in city 9kml out

2. Peugeot 3008 costs around 8.9mil. superb ride with good economy around 9kml in city 12 out but resale is a nightmare + maintenance

3. Toyota CHR around 7.5 mil. Winner in all aspects. Some what Comfortable. Good Resale. Economy around 12 in city. But a small vehicle with abnormal shape. Its an individual choice.

3. Audi Q2 1.0 will be 7.5 from company. Good deal with lot of options and prestige. Comfortable. Lots of options. Economy 7-8 in city according to company. Resale again a question. But still its an Audi.

4. Jeep renegade.1500. Simply an ugly car. But its jeep.

All this is brand new prices and details. Vezels i will jot mention here..

Hope you got what you wanted to know.

Should do more out my 2013 2.0L does 12-16 outstation

If you buy new/ unregistered will most likely will get a hit at resale in 2 years

Best to get a used to minimize the loss or if your are lucky might be able to sell at a profit

Guys what about Honda crv 1.5l turbo 2018 vs Montero 3.2 l diesel 2013. Montero can get for 10 million. So which is more worth for money and have better resale.

You keep saying resale value over and over again. If resale value is such a high priority go buy a Premio or an Allion. You will be much happier. I get the feeling that you also expect to sell the vehicle off at pretty much the same (or even at a higher) price than what you bought it for. So buy an Premio/Allion.

Most people in SL buy SUVs for the show-off factor. These people would rather buy a brand new or unregistered one to put on the latest number plate. Out of the second hand car buyers, most will be looking for cheap and fuel economical vehicles, so SUVs are out. You really cannot be buying a SUV thinking of resale value and fuel economy. The Premios/Allions/Aquas/Priuses/etc..have you beat in that. So I also get the feeling that you will be fruestrated when your SUV doesn't get sold after advertising it for one Sunday.

Any car can easily be sold if it is taken care of properly (without any shortcuts) and reasonably priced.

You are comparing SUVs of two different categories. What do you want the SUV for ? If you want to do proper off-roading or long extended cruises then the Montero would be much nicer. If you want a moderately capable crossover to run around in the city and do the occasional beach drive and do a few road trips..then the CRV will work. Because the CRV has a 1.5L engine..I am sure a lot of our guys are going to buy it in the coming months. Especially when it is launched in Japan in a Hybrid variant as well. Most of them will buy it expecting to get 100kmpl and then gget dissapointed and start dissing the car. So things can go either way

How about prado 120 petrol vs Honda crv 1.2 turbo which one do u recommend to buy considering re sale value, economy and comfort.

You can't compare a Prado with a CR-V !!! Two different cars intended for two different purposes. As such the type of people who will be willing to buy a used unit drastically differs.  Even for comfort....it depends on what you use it for...depending on the journey there will be times the Prado will be more comfortable than the CR-V and vice-versa. As for economy...its obvious isn't it ? One is a 2.7L petrol engine with a huge a$$ body and the other one is a 1.5L Turbo charged engine with a considerably smaller body.

This whole mentality of buying a car thinking of who will be buying after you is totally messing up the car market and people end up with vehicles they really can't afford nor need.

You keep talking about economy...so forget about a SUV...stick to the crossovers...

forget about all this resale value, economy..bs.

First and foremost....Why do you need a SUV/Crossover ? Figure out what your purpose is...do you want one to impress the neighbors ? are you planning on off-roading (e.g. trekking the national parks) or going on long haul drives ? are you going to just stick in the city ?

then come back and then we can discuss which models suit your need.

Even if we do a comparison between the Prado and the CR-V in a few weeks you are going to be back asking which is better between a Nissan Patrol and a CR-V....

I kind of have a feeling why you need a SUV/Crossover....so go buy a Premio...
