please give some clues which one is good

i all ready have  a townace cr27 252 -flatroof

now I was planning to buy  hiace 56 short

please help me with your expert ideas....about good/bad

thanks,.

Hello dhoni,

Both the models was well known in SL and i don't think this is a question to ask as we trying to compare apple to apple. (pretty much)

Majority of them made to carry goods not the passengers, so no comment about which one comfortable.

Townace: 2C engine - 1984CC

Hiace: 2L model on early hiace 24xx CC and famous 3L engine 2779CC

So hiace got better power over the town ACE but high fuel consumption.

Hiace got more room and townace is small compared to hiace.

Call is your, as we don't know your requirement about a van but they all good.

regards,

JC

If you need more power out of the Townace you could turbocharge it. The Townace Wagon came with 2C turbo from factory and I heard those engines are available in SL

you can turbo charge pretty much "any engine" :action-smiley-060:

I have seen turbo charged Indian ALTO in SL - pretty impressed with that.

Adding a turbo kit doesn't mean you have done everything, most of the cases piston's design to handle the pressure and the rest (rod, pin's, crank ect) including the cooling system.

If you really need turbo, recommend you to change complete "kit" engine + cooling system or a possible AL thread "My CR27 overheating after engine swap or My hiace overheat/ possible crack head) :D

"Do it properly or stay away"

JC

i planning to upagrate 2c to 3c for my townace cr27

how is fuel compersision for 3c

2C to 3C swap is pretty common hence I don't think fuel economy is a major concern

Try to go for a 3C turbo which was available in the 20 and 30 series. However, until the 40 series Townace Noah intercooler turbo and electronic fuel injection wasn't available.

I'm not sure if the 40/50(CR40G/CR50G) series engine would fit a CR27 as they have a front mounted engine while in yours the engine sits under the front seats.

What is the gear box in your van? (man/auto)
