Hello Brother

I use a 2016 model Petrol super GL TRH-200 with a 6 forward A/T Gearbox . I personally feel petrol is way better than diesel.

For diesel KDH you will have to pump super diesel, but for the petrol version you can pump normal petrol, Price of Super diesel & price of normal petrol has a small difference.

Engine is very smooth, feels like you are in a car & has very good pickup.

The fuel consumption of petrol is more or less the same as diesel in KDH.

Service intervals are less in petrol versions & less cost to service them than diesel versions, repairs are very much less compared to diesel ones.

Has a price difference of 10 Lakhs.

Actually that is kinda true. I've driven both quite extensively and for the same journey the fuel cost was around the same for both TRH and KDH plus the TRH must have a gem of a gearbox being a petrol with 10 people on board it wasn't under-powered at all.
and to drive the TRH was more comfortable as well, The KDH has a lot of body-roll at least the one i drove but the TRH didn't have it at that extend. I don't know how the maintenance cost will be for both vehicles but re-sale wise the Diesel will be easier to sell, that said it wont be too hard to sell the petrol variant too.

Let me start with the gasoline variant...

The gasoline models are coded as TRH and not KDH

Along with the face lift which came out in 2014 the TRH model received a new gearbox, hence it would be better if you could stretch your budget buy one of those, but the KDH models remained the same mechanically since 2010.

The TRH has slightly better traction when going up hills due to a lower bottom end torque and the peak torque sitting at a higher engine speed. It's sometimes quite difficult drive a KDH up steep hills cuz it would just keep spinning/slipping the rear wheels (unless of course if you have a KDH205/206)

the purchase price is cheaper too and the difference in fuel price per litre isn't that big either.

On to the diesel models.

As it's the more common option it's of course easier to sell

The diesel engine has a higher torque and with the turbo it has a quicker acceleration and better pulling. But the TRH has a higher horsepower

As usual diesel engines do better in fuel during long drives. My Hiace will happily sit at 1800RPM when I'm doing 80-100km/h with AC on.

If you are looking only at the flat roof model the diesel variant has an AWD model too.

You can find parts for KDH pretty easily, even 1KD engines have started coming down and some spare parts shop will even sell you as parts (rather than the whole engine).

In short, if you're mostly going to use it for city running and that too occasionally with few passengers, buy a TRH

If you are going to spend driving long distance on open roads and need to carry lot of people or stuff with you, buy a KDH.

I don't have a KDH but I've had diesel cars and the above is not true. The fuel consumption on a diesel engine will roughly about 30% less than that of a similar petrol version.

Meaning that the diesel KDH should travel 30% further on a litre of fuel than its petrol equivalent. So if you plan on driving a lot the diesel KDH is the better option.

Again, I don't have a KDH, and the above is based on my experience from owning a diesel car. So you should check with other KDH owners for confirmation on the above facts.

All the best on your purchase.

Not exactly related to fuel consumption but you have to pump super diesel to these from my experience.

We have 2 office vans used for promotions and our guys had no clue what to pump at first. When they used normal diesel both of them stared smoking so bad that we got complains to our corporate lines about the vans leaving a mini smog behind. I think they do dpf cleaning more frequently when using normal diesel.

What you said was correct.

Also Its not hard to sell a TRH, I had hard time looking for one because the petrol variants very rarely pop up for sale not like its diesel variants.
