Correction. Its 42 years now. And still looks young. 

Yes. its 24v. It is a simple cable that is getting noticeably heated when the ignition key is turned to left side. I prefer to fix it rather than adding a new sensor. Any idea about the coil please?

@Nishan.dj did u try to contact the 4DR5 group / owners club in SL, they might have or recommend a fix for the problem.
