You know that most lexus cars have complete different suspension setups than the average toyotas right ? In fact i think none of the toyotas being brought to Sri Lanka below the crown range (with the exception of the rare camry) even has rear independent suspension.

My Toyota Sprinter CE100 1991 had independent rear suspension

The Allion has an engine which is built keeping only fuel efficiency and reliability in mind.

It has got a cvt transmission. Talking about automatic, when has an automatic been fun to drive.

The car is front wheel drive. Contributes the steering to be very vague.

Will it ever be engaging to drive one of these.

People in Sri Lanka think, just because they are paying a premium for it. It makes it a luxury car. When one opens the door of one these and see that projector type scuff illumination. They are attracted to it and they buy it and show off.

Very pity car market in Sri Lanka. Paying 7.5 to 8.0 man to owe a boring econo box with some lights on it.

jMajority of the allion/premio owners are like this.

-Most of the time they drive the car to office/town and back to home (no chance of having the driving pleasure???)

-For overtaking 3wheelers,LALs,good old other vehicles the 1.5l engine is more than enough.

-After paying the loans monthly, taken for their houses and vehicles, only a little is left of the salary.(so unable to maintain european rides)

-Their main purpose of driving is to save as much fuel as possible.

-They want a troublefree simple ride

For these requirements the premios/allions fit perfectly.

The best example is my father. We've been having the 121 for more than 4 years but he is yet to hit above 4000rpm.But he does enjoy cornering in 121 saying how light the steering is.The good thing is he never calculate the fuel economy since the first few days after owning the car.For him a troblefree, bit comfier and easy ride is enough.

The funniest thing is that most owners of allions/axios/premios doesn't even know that their car has no gears to change.More than 95% of them doesn't know their rear seats are adjustable.????
