Hi @AVANTE I saw you comprehensive answer on Peugeot 406. So I submit a question and if you could, could you have a look on my post(· 0 replies
) I would like to have your opinion on that. So my obvious choice was Peugeot 406 D9 diesel one. but what i heard was, probability of some one selling it due to considerable issues, and it has hard time of reselling and repairing and spare pats finding and cost may considerably high. Seeking advice on this.
Thank you

Chinese are going to take over the automobile industry for sure. Tesla who was considered ground braking is shying away from the promised small EV and moving to Taxi cars as the competition is too strong. Then comes Chery with this small EV SUV. Looks like a Mini G Class / Jimny but is fully electric.· 4 replies

Interior Specialists? Every time I go over some bumps my seats squeak quite loudly and there is a massive rattle of a nail undone coming from inside the dashboard, anybody got any suggestions I could go to? My usual mechanic just said "turn the radio up"· 2 replies

I was watching a Yangwang U8 struggling to make it up a muddy hill on Youtube. I was wondering why cant an EV be more capable off road than an ICE vehicle. Given the fact that this behemoth has 4 individual motor on each wheel it should be able to direct power to the wheel that has more grip and stop power to the slipping wheel. Cant be rocket science right?· 3 replies

Question
kush
Thought I will share this as this as this might interest members and also may benefit from the experience.
Few days back my BIL had parked the car (Toyota Vitz) in my garden during a thunder storm and a lightning struck close by.
My house was also affected with burned ceiling fans and couple of burned bulbs (CFL/LED) main fuses in the electricity meter was blown and the entire house also got tripped.
Fortunately may wife who was at home had sense to pull out the plugs from the TV and other stuff so the damage was minimal.
But when my BIL tried to start the car although it cranked car newer started. All the other stuff including the instrument cluster was working. Only unusual indicator was a blinking coolant temperature light.
For what it is worth we decided to call the insurance company and when the guy came on following day morning the battery was also dead.
We had to tow the car to the garage and even the diagnostics (OBD) were not working.
Apparently the ECU (two ICs) and the alternator has got fried, this is as of now and we may need to replace the ECU and run OBD to see whether there is further damage.
He may get 50% of the claim form the insurance (have to wait and see)
Members my advice keep you vehicles indoor during thunderstorms, may not be practical all the time but may save you from lot of pain and hassle.
