Overheating

Mine eg8 single carb.

I feels my car gets heat..but my temp gauge stays middle..I feel my radiator fan gets so much time to kick in..

I checked both fan switch and collent temp harness..they got 12v.. But I'm unable to identify whether thermoswitch and coolent temp sensors are working or not..

I also got my radiator leaking and some horse cracked..

Also I just replace geniune thermostat as well.

Pls guys help me to identify the issue

If you have a leak in the radiator system then it would overheat and boil over. Before attending to other things make sure that the system is sealed and the pressure builds up as the engine warms up. If there is a leak however small it is, the pressure will not hold up and as a result the coolant would form steam bubbles inside the engine block thus reducing the physical contact between the block and the coolant and hence the overall cooling capacity. Also make sure the radiator cap is of the correct type and it seals properly.

yep rumesh I mean my reserve tank gets empty...so I need to refill/check every two or three days.. I chked my radiator cap and radiator are ok...no leaks on radiator either..

I feels my engine got hot and fan takes lot of time to kick in..what would think?

Will itbe a senosr issue?

Assuming your heater gauge is OK, Just check from where you lose the water first. Keep the car running for about 15 mins on idle with AC off until the gauge comes to half mark. Perhaps you may have to keep it a bit longer cos these days it takes a long time for engines to get heated up and bring the gauge to half mark. See if you have a water leaking or steam venting out from the reserve tank. Radiator cap has two rubber seals - one at the bottom of the cap and another at the top. Bottom one maintains pressure inside and the top one prevents water from spilling over. Since your fan takes a long time to kick in and the heater gauge is always at half-mark, unless both these systems are faulty (which is somewhat unlikely) your symptoms are that of a pressure leak into the reserve tank.

Just to be clear are you loosing coolant from your reserve tank only or are you loosing coolant from the radiator as well ?

No. In your car they work independently.

Aa OK..today I went to Honda specialist and he chkd and there has no gasket issue and chked all horses as well..I askd him about sensors..he told tht mine cannot chked properly because of carb..so he mange to put direct current power to cooling fan.. Is it OK?..

Rumesh is there a way to chked my thermoswitch and coolent temperature sensor works ?..I think this heating issue must be on these faulty sensor/s..

So wasn't your heating issue resolved after fixing the leak in the heater line?

My opinion is that you should have run the car and observed for a few days if the issue is still there. Because as Rumesh said, if your fans work independently and I'd your temperature gauge is indicating correctly, there is no need to directly wire the fan. Besides I don't think a "specialist" would do that.

No. It is not Ok to bypass the thermo switch unless you can live with degraded cold engine performance and long term carbonizing of the engine head. Only a "specialist makabaas" would do that kind of thing. Operation of the themo switch can be checked and the procedure is explained in Honda manuals in http://hondatech.info/downloads/Auto/Manuals/Civic/. However, a "specialist" would not do that for it cost him time. Instead it is more profitable for him to bypass the switch. You had a hose leak and as Davy said you must have allowed a few days running to see if the problem is resolved before looking into other things.

I fail to see what the issue is here. You got your cooling system leaks fixed, both your fans worked to keep the temp gauge at the middle mark. Seems like you are worried about something that is not really a problem. The fans may take different durations to kick in depending on many reasons, so I don't think assuming that it takes too long shouldn't be done based just on your feeling.
