Alloy Wheels - Buffing

dimdim

Question

Hi All

My alloy wheels are scraped , discolored etc and is not nice.

I have read old threads but have not understood whether I should paint it or is there any other plating mechanism.

Can you advise me how to sort this out and if you can let me know where to get it done in Colombo, how much cost approximately for a Mazda Demio.

Thank you!

You can get them painted at any decent paint shop. They will normally restore small curbing damages as part of the painting process. Price will depend on the place obviously. I had mine painted recently but can't give you a price reference as I had it done along with a full respray.

I did mine by myself.

Get a spray can.

Remove the wheels.

Cover the necessary places.

Spray.

It has been few months now, still looking perfect. :D

Yes! DIY Rules!

Just one question though, if the scratches are deep how to fix them?

And I guess painting will only work for non-nickel surfaces? Any ideas on reviewing the nickel surfaces?
