Hi Guys,

Im interested in buying a Peugeot 206 (2002/ 2005 ) Automatic (tiptronic). This will be my 1st car. My budget is around 1 to 1.5 Mn. Need your valuable advice on going for this car. I heard fuel consumption is around 12km/l .

Just out of curiosity, WHY do you want to go for a 206?

I used for 206 for a while. it does not return 12 kmpl. I had an Auto and it did 7 or 8 at most in colombo. If your looking for a audo the AL4 gearbox is pretty troublesome. more often than not you will find the snow sign flashing. Find a manual. for it's size, its very comfortable.

I can understand the idea of avoiding UK imports but why do you recommend to avoid Singapore imports of 206?

Since they were probably assembled by Naza in Malaysia, shouldn't they be a little more suitable for our climate?

quality of leather interior and options package offered compared to the brand new import isn't the same

I'd say better go for a manual. That way you can get 12kmpl or even more if you're not a heavy footer on accelerator. Nice comfy car in it's class. Try to get into a second generation brand new import, avoiding English and Singapore imports.
