Engine Cleaning Of Hybrid Cars

Recommended Posts

Modern engines especially hybrids have lot of electronics and electrical fittings inside the engine bay.

Water and also condensation could harm them and play havoc.

Best is to just dust or use a blower to take the dust out.

You don’t need to keep them clean unless for cosmetic effect.

Or get an expert job done once in awhile may be a steam clean.

You could just hose the surrounding areas carefully without splashing on to electronic parts and leave it to dry keeping the bonnet open. Or wipe off with a damp cloth.

Kerosene oil or engine degreasers will not be required generally unless there is a oil leak or something.

Kerosene and substandard engine degreasers could also do more harm than good.

Generally I don’t let anybody even the service people wash the engine this has worked fine for the last couple of decades.

Only time I wash the engine is when I want to sell it to look nice.
