what car do you use usually a quick search will give you the results if you have the owners manual that should have it too. But since we dont have the best of fuel first to start off on you might need to replace it at less intervals i.e if the book says 15k you might want to do it 12k purely judgmental and dependent on the owner imo

So, wheb do we need to replace this. e.g. every 20,000 KM ?

If I may clarify the point on the cost, in fact there are two types of petrol filters. One is the inline filter like the one shown above which is relatively cheap and there is another type sitting inside the fuel tank along with the fuel pump (In fact it is a screen not a filter although the both terms are used). This internal filter is not meant for frequent replacement (of course assuming we get quality fuel from CPC though it is not the case always) and expensive to replace. These filters or screens can be cleaned.
