Nissan N16 , Noise From Front Side.

prasannaek123

Question

I've got Nissan n16. This is 2003 made new model. 1.6cc Singapore one.. Now it is giving some noises from front & showed to several places & they can't found any problem with it. Noises are coming from the suspension system & like clink & duk noises when going on rough roads. I am in kandy & I want a place where I can fix the issues with it.

Do you get the sound from underneath or from the front?

1. If you feel that the sound is coming from the front, check whehter the bonnet lid is a bit loose. Check the bonnet slam (sorry, but I don't know the correct term). These are the small rubber bushes at either side of the front (directly behind the lamp assembly), which the bonnet rests on when it is closed. (In the below photo you can see the left side one just in front of the orange windscreen washer tank cap). If they are broken, replace them. If they are intact turn them to adjust them, so that the bonnet lid properly rests on the bushes. This is a DIY job.

2. Get a mechanic to check the front lower arm bushes. Bumpy roads in SL are known to ruin them. You can get them replaced for cheap. Just replace the bushes.

3. Get a mechanic to check on the tie-rod ends.

Sorry, but I don't know any garages in Kandy.

Noises are hard to determined without hear.

As "isam" mentioned, try to find out any loose, missing parts noise first instead of suspension noise.

If an experience mechanic cannot find where the noise begins, it might not be regular suspension noise.

Keep posting your finding as it may be supportive for others...
