Meanwhile the European built Type-R 2016 has arrived in Japan .

http://www.civicx.com/threads/civic-type-r-hit-the-track-in-japan.2787/

They had the record for the fastest car in Nürburgring for the category, but recently the crown was taken back by a Volkswagen Golf R. Honda going mainstream with lower Rpm and turbocharged gasoline direct injection instead of high revving VTec engines,Probably due to Euro 6 emissions laws. But with a 2L engine giving over 300hp,must be fun n fast.although this driver seems to complain about handling a bit. Anyone seen this on streets yet?

Nope...only at a Honda showcase in their main showroom last month. Pricing was also marked as "TBA"

After 12 years and 10 months mazda apparently celebrated the production of the 5 millionth Mazda Axela by the end of April (although they did a press release only the last few days). The production volume includes the Familia, Axela and the export model Mazda 3.

CONGRATS !!!???

So the launch of the next generation Allion/Premio seems to be dragging on forever....in April ~ May there were some renderings of an Allion/Premio facelift (yes another one). The rendering pretty much had the existing model with Toyota's new trademark face and didn't lok that pretty. Well....Toyota officially launched the facelifted facelift...and it is much prettier than the renderings. Granted it seems ot be the same car with a few additions like Toyota's safety sense. Apart from that they;ve changed the fabric options and colors and changed the center console and meter panel.

LOL...if I can quote my reply on the FB page:

"Wow..you are fast aren't you ? I just posted them on AL and you commented there and rushed here :)..actually...the magazine is not factually correct. For starters this is not the next gen..just a facelift (not to mention the front ends are different...granted the Premio front is pretty close). Also, some of the specs stated in the magazine were not right. Fact still remains...the article posted is a auto gossip magazine....the same mag had a Vitz as well...and a nice looking Aqua."

oh would you look at that, a conventional Heat gauge and fuel gauge. Not a silly light to say whether its hot or cold or a electronic fuel bar gague which is never accurate

I saw it yesterday and the styling is pretty good.anyway it's almost the same car we've been seeing since 2007.get yourselves ready to see them flooding sri lankan roads in the next few months.i'm glad that toyota at least did a better job than the ugly as hell pri-ass 2017.seems like toyota added VSA. But civic got this option since 2006.???.number of airbags have been increased to 6.it's sad that both of them are still missing tiptronic.anyway in sometime we'll be hearing "mudhalalis" saying that how the toyota safety sense c helped them to avoid a couple of 3wheel, motorbike and pedestrian accidents.??????

Well..it is the same car with some body and interior panels changed and options stuck in ne ?

You mean VSC ? Well VSC was available since the launch in 2007 but was limited to the 2.0L variants of both Premio and Allion....just that now it is made available right across the range.

As for tiptronic...I guess they don't see the need as the cars are not positioned or marketed as sporty cars. One is for the ojii-sans and the other for oji-sans who are feeling young at heart :sport-smiley-004:

iRage, every time i see this topic come atop i always check it to see whether there are any new about Mitsubishi Evolution. they are rolling out the last batch as final edition and then nothing credible could be found as to what are their future plans on the car.

Any updates that you know of from your part of the world?

I haven't heard of anything new....the last I heard of anything Mitsubishi was talking about a cross-over like Evo and some magazines did some renderings of one based on a RVR....
