Good to see they are carrying the styling themes from the bigger 6, this will be a great looking car as well...

Early reviews say its a brilliant drive as well... SL will get it soon, hope its as good as it seems!

Mazda's designs are getting sexier by the year!

Check out the interior, its really amazing for a car of that price.

The new Harrier is now officially on sale and orders are being accepted for late Dec/early Jan delivery (seems like along time though).Prices start from 2.7mil yen and goes up to 4.4 mil yen (more in line with the Vanguard prices).

Last year this time the rumor was that the RAV4 was getting scrapped in Japan to make way for the new Harrier. It seems this year the rumor (at least the more plausible outcome) is that the the RAV4 is going to be introduced as a step down grade for the New Harrier, as opposed to a parallel RAV4/Vanguard family/"model line-up" (Since most of the Vanguards around here are 2WD 5-seater models with all the bells and whistles maybe the Harrier and the Vanguard were eating each other up all this time? ). Makes you wonder what they were smoking all this time having so many models in the first place (Oh..right..., The Japanese market really really needed that longer 7-seat more-luxurious RAV4 to haul all those large Japanese families around).

As a result of all this, the new RAV4 is not going to be introduced in Japan till late/mid 2014.

The good ?

* Well the new one is supposed to be suckier (lower safety rating, the sporty feel apparently feels more jittery than sporty, etc..although it is not as bland) than the model it replaces. So you still can get a B/N normal less suckier RAV4

* After the launch..no more nights pondering if you should go for a long wheel base or a short wheel base RAV4...oh the nights of sleep I lost...

The bad ?

* The RAV4 until next year in Japan is only available in one grade...Style (you can either have Style or Style Sport which is just the Style with plastic stuff hanging from it as opposed to the actual Sport version that used to be there). Ironically now the Style is almost as basic as what the X used to be with almost everything that used to be standard on Style being options. So I guess the actual only grade is "X"..called Style which can be bought with plastic stuff that makes it look like a Sport.

<Sorry for the rant....Having a rough day today and this seemed to be the best way to vent with the minimal of repercussions>

Hmm...probably the only angle it doesn't look too bad in ?

It sounds super fake! Toyota is no way ditching the Prius and the Corolla!

yeah, it was filed under satire - I didn't notice earlier .. the part about Akiyo Toyoda testing and being taken up with the RWD of '86 is true but the rest is some pretty vivid imagination. Only if toyota has the nous to do it!

2013 Datsun GO breaks cover

Datsun is officially back in business with the GO which is scheduled to reach Indian market in early 2014 where it will be locally produced. The name comes from Datsun's first model called DAT-GO which came out almost a century ago in 1914.

After announcing Datsun's revival with several teasers, Nissan has unveiled the Micra-based Datsun GO which represents a simple five-door hatchback with the following dimensions: 3785mm length, 1635mm width, 1485mm height and a 2450mm wheelbase. It will be offered exclusively with a 1.2-liter engine linked to a 5-speed manual gearbox.

The exterior design closely mirrors the Micra, while inside the typical glovebox has been replaced by a space under the dashboard. Datsun moved the handbrake and gear lever to the dashboard as a method to free up space between the front seats. They also borrowed the Micra’s door handles and AC vents.

The Datsun GO represents the first of several models which will be launched starting next year in emerging markets like India, Indonesia, South Africa and Russia.

Love this front seat anyway. Can take the passenger ;) onto the driver's LAP easily.... Just a matter of finding a location for parking.. :medium-smiley-037:
