well the bottom line is i never did advertise nor did i sell anything that rachitha gave me...the only thing i did was build it thats it nothing more nothing less........and as you can see there are outside matters being pulled into this so what do u say lets put an end to this coz i came to learn about cars not about advertising selling scamming or any of that sort......

1)and watchmen the 4dr5 worked thing worked put thanks to another Al member we bought him one

2)0the trail bike idea never worked coz i couldnt find one for that price

3)it was not the r6 that was used like that it was the srx......

so i really wouldnt mind stopping this without dragging it any further.....my aim is to start the super hawk thread tommorow or day after as i will be going bactommorow morning since everything back home has settled down so yeah will start the thread asap......

1)Well watchmen i never said that i dont have access to a phone i told you that i have disconnected mine..also there is something called a laptop which u could use to browse the net...im trying to sty off the grid as much as possible....nut i also badly needed to get the feedbacks regarding the evo engine aswell..also watchmen i dont trust the guy at home thats one of the reasons i make sure my mech goes there atleast for a few minutes to even look at it...

2)yes done thats a great idea i would really love to give it to him...

3)and even if i did advertise them do you think i would put my number and nic and confirm that its the number on the site?use your head mate

4)the only reason i put my Nic number was to clarify my sttement about my phone being inactiv for a long period

Maybe for you guys it might be easy to sit behind the computer read through some posts and without even having any solid proof to accuse someone for your own amusement...

The last post by Rachitha he says in that that its over and i get some advice from him regarding the project but u guys just go on and on i wouldnt have put info regarding my id out like that if i did something wrong...but i didnt..

1. For a guy to have to "go off the grid" grid at 19 years old, it's kind of an indication on what sort of "deals" you get in to. But again, I don't know your story so I'm not judging

2.Though the evidence is circumstantial, it seems pretty conclusive. The ad has your (name?) Mobile number and a suspiciously similar list of somewhat rare parts listed (which you just so happens to have sourced the very day prior from rachitha) There are so many coincidences lined up here, you have a better probability winning the Shanida Wasana.

3. The reason people are so worked up is simple. This is one of very few (if not the only) community online that like minded Sri Lankan petrolheads frequent. I'm very new here but during the few months I've been here, it's plain to see that friendships formed here have evolved outside the internet and helped each other in many ways. Be it finding a shop that sells specific parts or services, experience, advice and in your case, A damn good bike (albeit incomplete, but who does that these days?) So when an (alleged) scammer is in the midst, resistance is a given.

I couldnt agree more with you...if i was rachitha ans domething like this were to start up i would do the same...and atleast 60% of my motor related work was done by considering all your thoughts and ideas....specially the thread i started regardint the ck2 a/c tht was purely acheived ny that thread....the thing is as you guys already know me and my dad we collect bikes..and the rachithas hawk is just ideal for this collection specially when you have to build it by yourself...the thing with the evo engine is i asked my mech and all he told me was lets do it..the only reason im following up this thread is coz the vehicle is undergoing a full resto as we speak so since the engine is already out it would be easier thats why...

Which also brings me to my other questions...

1)The floorboards are being completely done up is it okay if i spray marine paint under the and over the foor boards and all other areas such as the boot floor board the firewall and the mudguards...areas that might corrode again...

2)Also for fuel consumption if i close the secondry will there be issues in the engine??

Leaving aside all the tele-drama above, let me address your restoration questions.

1) Why would you use marine paint? Where did you get that idea from? Just use a good undercoating like the stuff Wurth has and it'll be fine.

2) Hang on, you want to close the secondaries? Weren't you trying to drop an Evo engine in??

Dude, you have issues man.....

Well marine paint is so that it wont rust but the secondaries im trying to close is coz the mixture is too rich no one can balance it and it does about 5k a litre for the time being coz i gonna drop a 1400 saturn engine to it

1. Ever heard of regular "anti-corrosive" paints? Or are you planning on going on an ocean voyage in your car?

2. By now you should have realized that you're clearly not competent or mentally prepared yet to be 'dropping' things.. you start panicking and goto the worst case scenario rather than work hard using the conventional methods of sorting things out. (latest being your marine paint idea)

Why in the world would someone even consider applying marine paint on a floor board of a regular car? You're not thinking of sailing across the Indian ocean once the car is done are you? If the floor boards are new, then all you have to do is apply a good layer of undercoating and it'll hold up just fine.

Also:

- The roughness in the undercoating also acts a bit like a sound deadening layer so that road noise is not heard inside the car. I'm pretty sure marine paint doesn't offer that advantage.

- When stones and other debris on the road strike against the wheel wells and the undercarriage, it's a lot less likely for the layer of undercoating to chip off, unlike marine paint.

Watchman, to be fair to the guy. Marine paints are a lot harder for obvious reasons. Standard anti corrosive paints don't really cut the mustard really in automotive applications. You really need to apply primer at the very least, because it doesn't stick that well to bare metal and can be scraped off easily. Might be a bit over the top, but at least I can see a reason.

I'm not doubting that the paint would not serve its purpose. But there are somethings that are just over the top. Dingy isnt the first dude on AL to do a restoration. There are other who are way more experienced and knowledgeable, and I'm yet to see any of them follow this path. So unless someone like GTAm or MasterDon state otherwise and proves me wrong, I would like to hold on to my opinion that this is overdoing it.

And Dingy is the guy who started half a dozen projects that were way above his tiny little head; so its justifiable to be take his ideas with a pinch of salt.

Come to think of it, he and Sylvi would make a great pair. They must might be the automotive equivalent of:

Well dude, you can't kick a guy for wanting to try something new. Most of the widely used techniques have come about that way, and due to the unavailability of specialist products, tools, or cost, people always have to improvise.

Just because somebody inexperienced comes up with an idea, that doesn't mean it's a bad one.

Its not his urge to experiment that I find ridiculous, but his lack of focus and direction.

Well, let me put it this way. You were also part of this forum at his age. You were just as passionate about your mirage too. But you didn't come here yelling "yo I wanna drop an evo engine in my car" then the next week crying "my car's not very fuel efficient.." You had a clear plan/vision for your car, and you did your fair share of research and thought out your questions, before voicing it out.

So yeah, i guess it comes down to one's own personal opinion of what's experimenting and what's day dreaming and what's being realistic..
