Subaru B4 Help

Recommended Posts

Hi Guys, I am hoping to buy a B4 and I inspected a few cars in the past months, Two cars have caught my eye. The numbers are GS 5599 (Gold) and HD 4334 (Black). I called Senok to ask whether they were maintained there. They informed that none of these cars were maintained at Senok and they don't have any information about these. Does anyone in Autolanka have any information of these cars (especially whether they were involved in accidents, engine replacements etc.)? Are they good to buy?

Is it a good idea to buy a B4 which was not maintained at Senok?

Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the forum scoobydeux...

If the cars mentioned are not maintained at senok perhaps you should find out where they were maintained.. If they were maintained by specialists such as Nadeera Jinasena (Dynamic Racing), Sabry Abdul Salam (Raptor Performance), Ashan SIlva (Drag & Drift Performance), Darin Weerasinghe (B.R.J.W. Enterprises) or Sajaad Zuhair (Auto Force) I think you would still have nothing to worry about.

However, since jdnet has confirmed that the car bearing reg no: HD-4334 has met with a serious accident it would be better to stay away from it.

Since you are in the market for a B4, why not speak to Jehan Xavier at Senok (Subaru Service) in Grandpass and ask him if he knows if any of the cars serviced/maintained by them that are currently up for sale?

No It's the BEST subaru in the world. At least that's what the owner thinks.

Hmmm... If my guess is correct on this B4, doesn't the owner claim that is maintained at Senok? Senok did everything systematically to bring the car up to the optimum condition after the accident?

Think twice before writing the reg. numbers. I think its unethical.

Can you tell me why is it unethical? Because crooks can get caught?

Did you know that in many countries you can enter the reg number in to a website and get the entire history of the car?

Not exactly. Either way if the cars are in bad shape word will spread. B4 market is a specialized one and there is no hiding a bad apple.

In SL,simply enter the Reg.number to this forum. quick replies (true or false) from members with alias. LoL what a easy way

pls use your common sense!

Maybe YOU should use some common sense, dumba$$. If someone did not have anything to hide, then they would not be worried about making the license plate number of a car they are going to sell public. By your logic, we should not have license plates at all because it would be unethical for some random person on the road to see our plate number.

Well, for starters unless its an idiot like you, no-one would go buy HD4334 simply because one individual on a forum said it was good, nor would he stay away from it just because one individual said its bad. They are just opinions to take into consideration or pointers to point you in the right direction; In this case it helps dig up old threads like this.. http://forum.autolanka.com/topic/13405-im-sorry-carbon-b4-sylvi-and-the-rest-of-the-people-i-have-hurt/page-2

Anyway I get a feeling DNP has ulterior motives in this car or other lemons he's trying to sell off; cos there's no reason he should be against someone saying something negative about a car (with proof to back his points)

The only thing my common sense tells me is that you might be one of those con men who patch up messed up cars and flog them off to some unsuspecting idiot with labels like "show room condition", "doctor owned" etc.

In that way, I really admire Autolanka's policy of not accepting ads if the number plate is concealed.

I agree. That really helps a new owner get some transparency on his new purchase. It can be really unnerving buying something not knowing what its history has been especially when its not a mainstream vehicle.. I know the feeling cos I'm about to purchase bike and am extremely tense and nervous cos I dont know anything about its history except what the owner tells me.

Ammo enough enough !!! no words come to the mind after reading these things.

I have no connection about those cars. That member who started this thread said he has inspected these cars and asked etc. giving reg numbers. I thought it was unfair.it was my personal view. Personally I dont like to criticize others property. and believe that is not the better way to find the history of vehicles.but I dont know what the way is? LETS START THE NEW THREAD about it?

and those 2 cars are not displayed in AL ads .so this is not a problem of AL ads.

The only thing my common sense tells me is that you might be one of those con men who patch up messed up cars and flog them off to some unsuspecting idiot with labels like "show room condition", "doctor owned" etc.

hahh haa!!!

I dont like to criticize others property.

You don't need to criticize "Other's Property" as long as the "Others" keep it to themselves. However, if that "Others" is trying to sell the "Property" to "Some Others", then there is a point to make a comment about it, as the expected ownership experience of "Some Others" may differ from that of the "Others".

In short, while one owner maybe happy with a accident affected vehicle (whether it had been properly repaired or otherwise), it's next owner may not be.

You obviously haven't heard of Carfax or Autocheck, have you?

The fact is Sri Lanka has no central register where you can check on insurance claims on a particular vehicle. This would help a lot in assessing a vehicle. At the moment the only option available is to rely on hearsay or do a thorough inspection by lifting the car up.

As such discussion relating to specific vehicles will need to be tolerated though there is a small chance of abuse or incorrect information being posted as its the less of the two evils.
