Hi guys,

Bad yesterday I faced to a bad incident, Its Like this I have sicked a sun shade on my drivers door shutter and mistakenly I pushed the auto shutter down button, how bad was it the sun shade stucked in side the door, fortunately when I pushed back it up, it just came out but one single plastic sun shade holder(you know what I mean the plastic thing used to stick the sun shade to the shutter ) stucked in side the shutter and the door panel.

So now the panel not seated well to the door and when the shutter turning up and down it giving creepy sound also...(because of rubbing the two phases)

Can somebody tel me a good/clean work/no harming to my door panel/not making scratches/ place me to get that thing out from inside my door?

I guess somebody who working in power shutters will do this in perfect manner..

It's about my VITZ :)

Thanks pals..

u dont need a specialist dude. Just remove the pannel yourself and remove the suction cup off the glass..

Start by trying to figure out where the screws are.. they are most likely under the door handle (the one you grab to close the door) and behind the door handle that you use to open it. The rest should be a series of plastic clips going around the outer border of the door panel.

It shouldnt take you more than a hour, just be mindful not to force the plastic clips cos too much force can break them instead of unsnapping them. Yes there's a risk of breaking a clip when doing this with no prior experience, but most garages are just as likely to break a clip or 2 due to their carelessness.

All the best!

I'm curious though on how a suction cup could go through the beading :o

Yes I cant believe it pal.. but it creep ed in side it, Year that's the thing I do not know where exact the screws are..DO you think the screws only under the door handler in VITS? can the outer clips unplug by pulling only? or is there other way instead of pulling..? before remove the panel Do I need to unplug the battery or inact the ignition?

my vocabulary may not well enough so please sorry for that.. : )

I have removed the door panels on my lancer a number of times, I did not remove the battery.

As Watchman said, usually there are 2 screws to hold the panel to the door and the rest are clips.

As per my experience, after removing the two screws, you need to pop the clips at the bottom of the panel first and then work your way to the sides, then lift the panel upwards so that it gets released.

And when fixing it back, make sure the top part of the panel is secured first before popping the clips back on at the bottom.

Just go ahead and try it yourself, even if you break a clip or two, you can easily replace them.(FYI : I get my replacement clips from Li*k Enterprises - Jubilee post they have an array of clips that you can choose from)

Good luck.

The procedure differs slightly from car to car.

I will not be held responsible for any damage occuring to your car or you by following these instructions. If you're not comfortable with it, by all means get the help of an experienced person.

1) Open your drivers door fully and look for any visible screws, usually theres one holding the door handle assembly.

Start by removing all plastic garnishings, especially the one around the door handle assembly. They are held on by clips and can easily be popped using a thin flat blade (I use a butter knife) be carful not to damage the plastic though. Remove all the visible screws while you are at it.

2) Inspect the arm rest. They usually come off by pulling it straight up. You will need to use a fair bit of force when doing this for the first time. When it pops, disconnect the wire harnesses of the switch panel and completely take it off.

3) You will now see some screws (usually 3) holding the panel to the door, remove them and set them down in the order they were removed, the lengths of these some times vary and it is ery important that you fix them back in the same order.

4) The door panel is held around the edges by plastic clips. You can now pop them by inserting a thin flat object (butter knife :D) between the panel and the door.

5) Assemble back in reverse order.

These are obviously general steps. All cars are put together using the same basic methods so use a little common sense and figure it out.... Your "baby" is a Vitz, just like everybody else's Vitz, it is not made of tissue paper held together by silk, it is a CAR. Therefore, follow the steps above, or go to a garage and pay through your nose to get it done..... your choice.

If you (or even experienced mechanics) use flat screw drivers/butter knives etc to pry open panels and trims, first have the tool wrapped in the thin piece of cloth to prevent damage/scratches to the paint and plastic parts. If you decide to DIY, do it with steady hands in one motion, or ask a friend to do it and turn other way. Sure, he would not mind hurting your Vitz.
