Dotted Area Around The Windscreen

there is a dotted area around the windscreen and I sow that there is small gadget named "ETC" mounted in the top of the windscreen in inside..can not figure out what this and what if for that dotted area for - may car is VITZ 2008 scp90

If I am not mistaken this is a vehicle tracking system.

In USA vehicle tracking and tollgate detector for cash collection.

It is a transponder pasted or fixed as a standard component.

the GPS unit also there on the dash board too..Wouldn't it be a rain sensor??

No.

ETC is the Electronic Toll Collection system in Japan, so what you are looking at is the sensor for the ETC card unit to detect/transmit/receive data when you reach a toll gate. It has no GPS sensory features on it.

The black dotted area....hard to say without seeing it...

- new car windshields have a dotted border right along the edge of the windshield, which is in most cases a cosmetic border to neatly transition from the black seal stuff to the windshield as in this case: http://www.wonderquest.com/windshield-dots.htm

- it can also serve as a matter of soothing out the edging between different layers of glass

depending on the type/pattern of the dots, width of the dotted bacnd, density of the dots (again hard to say without seeing it)

- it can even be an antenna

- it can be small heat shield

From what are you descrbing I think it is point 1, and the ETC sensor is stuck on the glass on top....you might even notice that the cable gets tucked into the beading and neatly run down to you ETC unit itself.

Dotted perimeter; cosmetic and also used as a heat shield (the very edge is continuous black) for the windshield adhesive - web.

Rain sensors are different and don't think the particular model has r/s wipers?
