the stock headlights smudged more than a van Gogh painting. so i asked our resident DIY-guru Davy for some help in restoring them. he didn't just help, rather took over the whole undertaking. and the end result... well...

Probably because it is pointless to throwaway a perfectly fine set of headlights due to some minor-medium surface contamination. With the rights tools and liquids/chemicals you can restore them to b'new condition. :)

However, if the Type R comes with different lights, then it is a different story.

Cheers

Komi this is awesome! I envy your patience, resolute and commitment to proceed on a project like this with so many other things in the life to take care of. Best of luck be with you always!

BTW what are you planning for the undercarriage?

to be honest, life's been a biatch lately, and i've come to realize that wife and car is all that stands by me when chips are down. hence i decided to lavish both with every kindness affordable.

every man has a passion. mine redlines at 10,000rpm. ;)

Bought the alloys. Handed them over to Indika to spray gloss white. Got the white Center caps printed as well.

Progress is slow! Aargh!!

I'm new to the forum and dang this build is a sight for sore eyes! MAD respect for going all out and your attention to detail is mind blowing! It fills my heart to see a real enthusiast invest so much time and effort on a motor with so much potential. Especially when the entire country's population seems to be divided between guys who buy a GT-R just cos they can afford it and drive like grannies or "thel hinganno" like you put it :D

Will be following this thread starry eyes and all!

Adey these tail lights dosen't look that bad ney!

hi there! welcome to AL! well, yes the lights aren't that bad, but then, rice is rice, be it samba or basmathi. i'm hoping good clean JDM will be a nicer look. but that shot did make me reconsider, if only for a passing moment.

aptly put, hoonigan. you nailed it. to summarize your earlier post, money can't buy you what i'm making. it can't buy you love. not at this level, at least.

its 15 years old, 300- does a good 6kmpl, no batteries no IMA no launch control (not yet) no active yaw control no climate control even.

but it will be the only type R DB8 sedan in the country.
