Had an EG8 dual carb and that had a cat-converter and a couple O2 sensors. According to one of the technician at Stafford, only JDM imports had them and none of the b'new imports came with any of them (I hve check it myself to verify). Is your car a JDM import?

Don't think mine had any letters after D15B either. Your fuel system is a carb. system and not an EFI system.

Cheers

D 15b is the JDM dual carb version also known as Mx. Most of the brand new egs to SL are single carbs also known as Eg Ex. Their engine code is D 15B3. Other single carb varint is D15b2, which has 1.3engine and I think they are commonly found in UK . I initialy thought your one is D15B2..

I think your engine code is correct. Info you find online are mostly about usdm engines. And as your car is an eg8, it should be an obd1 engine.

Machan sorry for my ignorance, I thought Eg carb versions dont hav ECUs,so no Obd thing. Atleast my single carb doesnt have an Ecu!

^yes and no..my old dual carb MX had some sort of a control unit in the passenger footwell which looked very similar to an 'ECU'. Apparently it controls some vacuum solenoids. However, you cant use it for any diagnosis purposes. EG8 Vtec on the other hand is a different story.
