How To Remove The Sain On My Car Seat?

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I recently bought a 2010 Toyota Vitz car. (was lucky enough to buy it few days before the tax hike!) :D

But there is a big stain in the back seat (Seats are fabric).

I've searched through the internet and found many people suggesting different kind ways to clean these kind of stains; but I'm not sure if I can find those liquids they used; over here .

I just wish that it is some coffee, coke or something and not pee, vomit or remains of some weird Japanese porno! :P (If you have seen Japanese porn; you will understand what I mean lol :wacko2: )

So, to the question, please suggest me any cleaning equipment, liquid or any product that will help me get this stains off and please suggest a place to buy those products!

Also, suggest me any other products which will help me clean the windshield, glasses, upholstery and carpets etc.

Many Thanks!

Don't use every liquid that you found on internet. Some liquid contains Acids that clean the surface but some months after it easily tear from the place you apply. So be careful when using detergents. Why don't you take it to good car detailing place. they use professional stuff.

Go to arpico or a hardware store. They have a interior cleaner foam that comes in a green and grey can or red and yello can. Both would have plastic brushes on top of the can.l Sorry cant remember the manes. I do know one is a Marpa brand. Just spray the area, aggitate it with the brush and wipe with a clean cloth.

ShintaroX right, sometimes its better to let professional handle the work, specially with fabric materials.

If you don't know something, please keep quiet ok? this forum had enough b.s. going on at the moment. Just posting things like "let professional handle the work, specially with fabric materials" is of no use to anyone. Do you really think the monkeys working at the detailing centers are professionals? I wouldn't even let most of them clean my tires, let alone try to remove the stain.

Also, please do refrain from creati ng pointless threads that no one cares about,.

Thanks ShintaroX and Malaka2 for your reply!

Yeah, I already gave a ring to Kleen Park..... They are closed on upcoming holidays and already booked for few days after! On top of that, they are a little bit pricy too! (The lady over the phone told me, they don't clean only the seats,so if I'm gonna get it cleaned by them, I will have to do a full interior cleaning which costs more than 5000 bucks!). That's why I considered doing it myself.

Anyway thanks for warning me before I use some sort of bad liquid and ruin my seat. :)

If you say so. My bad.. But I agree with you the highlighted phrase. Most of car detailing center workers are not qualified to even wash tires. But their are some professional ones too in qualified centers. So don't put everyone to same box. Arpico has devoted partition for auto care but most of them has to be twice think before use. Appreciate your DIY work.

Thank you Jdnet! :)

I will try it! Sorry for questioning, but are you sure it will not ruin my seat? Have you used it before?

Yep over the last couple of years I've used a dozen cans of both brands. No issues. If you are concerned about it do a small spot test. Basically spray a little bit of it in an area thats not noticable and leet it dry.

Thanks Jdnet! Will give it a try! I really appreciate you taking your time to reply!

Your thread on "car detailing" is actually what encouraged me to try doing it myself! :)

Keep up the good work!

Just an aside, my wife saw something like that on the back seat of the Ford a few years back and I had a hell's own job explaining and wriggling out of her pointed and somewhat challenging enquiries. Always had seat covers on the vehicles' seats since then. All a bit irrelevant I know. But that's life.

Last night I was in Arpico Hydepark, I cannot remember it was there. You can also check in Laugh gas Auto accessory outlets. The Orugodawatta had few. As JD said, try a small area first and you will get the hang of it. Also try this method, which worked for a friend of mine to remove a bad stain. Spray a small amount, wait for few minutes, and apply some paper tissues on the area and keep on pressing them lightly. The stain may get sucked into the tissue. Just try this method as well. This really helps for other upholstery apart from seats.

Professional detailers may have few good people, but the general working staff is untrained unskilled people. They do not know the basics even.

Soak the stain with some water and mild detergent for about 15 minutes, then use a clean rag and some more water to sponge it all up. I had a large coke stain on my rear seat, and I got rid of it that way.

Machan I have the same problem with the driver's belt in my car. Have you sorted it out yet? I'm angling to take out the reel and service it myself, but I'm not sure of the complexities involved.

Hey guys, thanks for the tips!

I went to the Arpico yesterday bought these products! (except for the three bottles on the left which I already had with me.)

I'm thinking about using the "Foam cleaner" to clean the stain! It is the product jdnet suggested, isn't it?

Anyone has any previous experience with any of these products?

MARPA foam cleaner is the one to use.............for the fabric seats.

  • 2 weeks later...

Just to give you guys an update on how it went.....

Eventhough many of you suggested the "Marpa Foam Cleaner", it did not work for me. Tried applying it many times, but the stain was still clearly visible. I can say it cleared a little bit but I think even water could have done a better job.

But the "Armorall multipurpose auto cleaner" (Third bottle from the right; in the above picture) did the job for me. :)

FYI :

I applied a little bit of the liquid and let it soak for 30 seconds and brushed it gently, then used tissues to clean it. Had to repeat the process many times until the stain was no longer visible. Then used a wet cloth and wiped the whole aria. After that I vacuumed it and let it dry for few hours. The result was quite satisfying! :)

Well it depends on the cause of the stain and duration it had been let to dry. Some are easier than others. I have had very good results with Armor all foam cleaner. Have heard good reviews about the Armor all multipurpose cleaner, need to give it a try.

OT, but the Armor all wheel and tire cleaner is fantastic in lifting off dried up brake dust and oil off alloy wheels!
