Well All Can Race Under BMW event... Maybe SL-H up to 2.5L First we need to know who is interested to get the event organized

Not a bad idea but to add to watchmen said you do realize that most of us would not race our cars and take the risk of crashing right ?

True, I am not meaning of putting a day to day Bimmer to the race.... But I have seen plenty of modified bimmers on the road Eg E30 / E32 / E34 / E36 etc...

Hi not to discourage u but from what i heard... SLAS has put in some rules to state that only drivers who have run a complete championship year or won 3 podium finishes can take part at the colombo road race....so u might wanna check that out first....good luck

SLAS will consider if there are sufficient competitors in the event...!!! We just need to know who's available...!!!

Its not about the number of cars in the event mate....they have clearly stated that the drivers have to meet their minimum requirement.....They did this for the kandy road race too

Proposing for a one make BMW event is near impossible for the until the next decade if discussed very honestly. Cars expensive, parts impossible to find, almost all aftermarket performance parts are not found anywhere around, no proper type specific race tuners or mechanics found etc..Best if you can prepare your car for the upcoming Colombo drag to race your beast or have it ready for Saturday night underground drags.

Adding some thing about road races, Yes i think having strict rules who can participate on this road races is a must.

Not like in proper track, the spectators were too close to road. While Kandy road races went smoothly with no fatal crashes.. it was time bomb ticking IMO. There were few extremely dangerous bends where cars moving just 2 , 3 meters away from the crowd at may be 100 - 150Kmph.. If not for drivers experience in handling things could've been pretty bad.

Relaxing eligible criteria for more participants is not a risk that worth to take.. We don't wanna see this new event just stop suddenly due to a tragic event.
