subhasinghe motors is one of players among other peugeot spare part dealers such as ideal motors, dharshana motors, imperial motors and euro motors. Located right at the main color lights of armour street.

As I know tThere is someone who sell Peugeot parts at Pelawatte, Battaramulla. Near to KFC.

Yup. Not sure about a spare part shop, but surely there's a garage that does Peugeot repairs. It's near Il Gelato, formerly Coffee Bean. You can't miss it, look for the long line of parked Peugeots :-)

To all the peugeot lovers.....there's a person called Mr. Rajeev Dassanayake, who restores Autogear boxes in most of the European cars / coaches / Trucks and also can by spare parts ( brand new or used ) from him. His place is along the Kandana station road called Auto transmission Centre. If you are unable to find any spares in Panchikawatte you could try this location. Rather reasonable prices and a good preson to talk about your vechicle.

And also there's a crook, who owners a shop called " Abirami Motor Stores " in Panchikawatte, near the" Darshana Motors". This fellow has got many used spares too...but will try to play a massive game and cheat on you, tries to be smart....

As Harshana mentions, the other places are worth a visit - specially Ideal, Darshana etc.

I did restore my Autogear box with original spares, hunted down in Panchikawatte and then met Mr. Rajeev finally..

cheers

Yes, this person is very capable in handling euro autboxes. He will take sometime to do the repairs, but you should end up with a good service!

I bought my first 406 Executive around 6 months ago,and things were pretty much same as yours.Almost everyone were against about my choice but I went for it.I did listen to the others but confidently gave priority to my taste,to my living style and to my affordabilty.

It's a 10 years old car driven on SL roads so I did spent some money on that but same as you,I have no regrets 'cuase a dream came true !

Today I am so happy because above all from a car I get what I need; A LOT OF DRIVING PLEASURE!

There are not many reliable, affordable, cars with decent driving pleasure in SL ,so Iam sure you did right.

So,take good care of the beauty and GOOD LUCK!

Thank you!! I'm soo in love with it. Did you come across any repairs so far?? Thats what most important for me because i made the initial investment but no further expenses though. All what i look forward is to pump and hit the gas. Apart from the regular servicing i dont think i have got enough finances to do any major repairs. But this is a well maintained car and all services done by the agent so on that assurance i bought it. Just did not want to start of with a small bug or an old jap

Like I said when you buy a used car you have to expect spending some money on that.less or more.In my case, the timing belt was due( according to the records I could have used it for few more hundred miles but I didn't need a chance.) So I changed it and the water pump, changed some minor front end parts like a ball joint,a tie rod end, changed rear links, and did a fully complete tune-up.

Mine is automatic, manufacturer says the AL4 tranny lubricated for life but I got it drained and refilled.May be it wasn't nessasery but I liked some fresh juice in every reservoir in my "new" car .

I would suggest you to show the car to a Peugeot pro to see if you need to do anything on it though you 're not ready or not need to spend any money on that.

That 'll give you an idea about what you're driving and what you're up to if any, especialy if you're a fresher.

Does anyone know where to get a original key done for a Peugot 406 D9 2001?

If you get a blank key with transponder, you can get it cut, well anywhere, and then get it programmed at one of the pug specialists.

If you want an original key, the agents can get one down for you from the factory.

Recently bought a Peugeot 308 2010 car and received only one broken remote key. The case was broken and the key doesn't flip and always open, no battery and battery terminal. So the remote locking doesn't function. Luckily the transponder is working. I want to know if anyone can tell a good place to buy a remote key case for the broken one and a place to buy a duplicate key for a reasonable price. Recently saw cases are available in eBay with and without the chip. Are those reliable?. If i buy a remote key with a chip how or where can i get it programmed? Although this is an old thread, hope someone will help.

I too met him when I had my Mazda, concur what has been said by Rez with regards to Mr. Rajeev - a nice person to have a  cat about cars  ( Maybe other stuff too :-)
