The Hummer 3 went into production at the GM plant in SA recently. All markets apart from the US will be receiving their Hummers from here.

I'm suprised to see the new H3 isnt a monocoque chasis! It isn't even a true off roader! But its good to see big name manufacturers investing in other countries! Maybe a manufacturer could invest in Sri lanka?

Are there any vehicles being produced in Sri lanka for big name manufacturers?

Hummer H3 (or the H2 for that matter) and the word 'off-roader' don't belong in the same sentence. Its an insult to all the real 4x4's out there. Come to think of it, is the H1 really that great either?

Before you guys start throwing heavy blunt objects me, give me a sec. to clarify:

Is the HMMVVV (humvee) an

- YEAP! ITS BAD, its WIDE and it'll knock the socks off any current light Military-spec 4 wheeler out there.

Was the cilvilian version (Hummer H1) cool?

Are they good offroaders? Well, the H1's a capable off-roader, and is certainly the mechanical equivalent of every man’s wet dream. But then again, it can't do any thing that any other regular off-roader won't;

Can H2's off-road? As for H2's and H3's going offroading... Well you're joking right? A GM Chevy Tahoe with extra body cladding and shinny chrome bits go off-roading? Oh wait, was that a trick question....?

Chinese company shows interest for Hummer

It was reported awhile back that GM intended to sell its Hummer brand and lately a Chinese company and a private equity firm have showed interest. Joanne Krell, GM spokesperson would not comment on any possible buyers but established the fact that the review of the Hummer brand is ongoing.

An update will be available by the end of March. The source has said that talks concerning the Hummer have increased in the previous weeks. The names of the suitors have not been disclosed. If indeed a buyer has been found for the Hummer, it could be part of GM’s restructuring plan that will be submitted to Congress next week in order for the carmaker to preserve the loans it was granted.
