I've listed a few vehicle models below and kindly support me with your expert ideas to select the best one. 1. Honda Vezel (after 2015 manufactured) 2. Honda CRV ( 2010-2013 Models) 3. 3. Hello! Hope you’re all keeping safe! Yesterday I was driving my moms HT32 XTrail which has 81k kms on it and while driving downhill at the Pita Kotte junction, I felt the usual EV-Petrol shift jerk, a bit intensified and the vehicle started vibrating a bit. Like the engine was sputtering, sort of. And so my obvious reaction was to stop the vehicle. It was then that I realised that the Engine had shut off. I tried restarting the engine and it did, but when I shifted the gear to try and drive it to the side of the road, the engine turned off again. By then the Engine Check light, ESP, Brake Warning and Master Caution lights were illuminating on the dash. I somehow managed to push the car to a side and park it by the side of the road but unfortunately was not able to find any mechanics to diagnose the issue. So I had to tow it back home. Can anyone here please give me any credible information regarding this? I’m quite sure it’s the infamous gearbox issue that played up, and I’m sure it has something fishy to do with the apparent “gearbox replacement” that was done in June of 2020 by Sterling Aftercare. Can anyone give me any advice as to how I should proceed from here on please? Thank you! Hope you all have a much pleasant Sunday than I am having!

  5. Dear all I'm looking for a suv for daily 200km drive, fuel economy and comfort matters. I'll be driving up and down to kandy from colombo. Any suggestions? Here are some options I've figured considering current market prices for my available budget.(5mil) Nissan X tail hybrid 2015 KIA Sorento Diesel 2011 Hyundai Santa fe 2010 SSang yong rexton 2009 Please give your suggestions.
  6. Hi guys, im interested in buying used Nissan X trail 2015 to a cost around 5 - 5.5mio. It seems like a good price but everyone mentioned there is a gear box issue on this vehicle. No one has an idea about the actual issue but just saying. On the other hand, few told me that the gearbox issue comes only in 4wd version and nothing to worry about 2wd version. So I'm asking, what is this issue, is this true on 2wd version, any other common issus in this vehicle and should I avoid buying this. Tnx.
  7. I need a 7 seater SUV for 3.5 million which has a good fuel economy. (diesel) I could only find that Hyundai Santa Fe 2007/2008 will help all my requirements but all the vehicles available have crossed 100,000kms on the clock and I heard the engine needs to be overhauled after reaching 100k and the second-hand market is horrible too. The main reason I need a 7 seater is that there are 6 people in my family and we mostly travel together. I also have thought of buying something like an x-trail or rav4 2007ish and ride with the family by turning down the back seats or I heard that a seat can be installed as a 7 seater on a Facebook post. I could only find old posts about this from 2013 on this website so please help me. Thanks in advance, Somasiri

  9. Submitted by Benjamin Yong on September 30th, 2016 Toyota's Hybrid Synergy Driver technology powers each one of the company's hybrid vehicles. We all know the Toyota Prius family of vehicles are fuel-efficient. Some may even know it’s because of the automaker’s Hybrid Synergy Drive (HSD) system that powers every hybrid model. But how does it work? Find out below. At the core of HSD is a twin motor-engine setup. A gasoline engine acts as the primary means of propulsion and an electric motor provides backup power and recovers surplus energy. The computer automatically switches between the two to deliver maximum fuel efficiency and a comfortable driving feel. Let’s dive a little deeper into the technology. When the vehicle is initially started up and all the way up to the mid-speed range, engine efficiency is at its poorest. As a result, the gasoline powerplant is shut off and the car runs solely off the high-output electric motor. During normal cruising, the main power switches over to the warmed up engine running at high efficiency, which directly drives the wheels. A generator is also engaged — via a built-in device that splits and diverts engine output — to produce electricity for the motor. In scenarios calling for rapid acceleration like passing on the highway, power is supplied simultaneously from both sources to boost performance. As soon as it’s time to slow down, the process happens in reverse. While the driver lets off the accelerator and/or gets on the brakes, the wheels turn the motor, now operating as a generator, converting rotational and braking energy into additional electricity used to charge a high capacity battery. This is known as regenerative braking. When the battery level dips down to a low level, the engine switches on the generator to begin the recharge cycle, ensuring the system maintains a healthy charge for optimum operation
