hi friends, I'm new to this forum and wish to get some advices from you all. I'm using a toyota allion 260, m.y 2013, wine red. I had a very unfortunate accident just in front of my house. I was waiting to reverse my car into the garage and the car next door came and hit mine since I had parked my car just in front of his gate and he reversed the car towards the road from his garden. I was tuning up my radio and didn't notice this man is reversing out and I don't know how did this man reverse the care without seeing any of of the mirrors. However he came and hit the rear door (driving seat side) of my car and got damaged slightly in three places. I showed this to one of my best baas and he advised me the best option is to replace the door with a new one as, doesn't matter how clever you repair it, but you can never get it 100% back to the original condition since this door has a very sophisticated shapes and it's not possible to repair the dents and get that shape back to the original condition. So I decided to replace the door. He asked me to buy a door and said he'll do the paint so that none can find out it has been replaced. Now I'm thinking of getting this done by Toyota itself, I have the insurance. Does any of you have experience of paint works in Toyota ? When they do painting, do they only care only about the color code? or do they match the color with the FADED color in the other areas of the body of the car since my car is about 3 years old by now and the color has faded out and it doesn't have the original shine or the thickness. If they just match the color code and paint, only the door will look like very new and it'll be highlighted that the door has recently been painted. What experience do you guys have? What would you suggest? This is my first car and I have no any previous experience like this. I'll be very thankful for any advices, suggestions.. Thanks

Hi guys, I bought a carina AT170 (carburettor model 1989 17-9xxx) recently. This is my first own car although ive been using my dads for a few years but deffa need some help with a few issues. Will list them down so that any volunteers could help. 1/ The car does around 8 kms per litre average in the city and outstation. I am not sure what to do with it. I showed it to a mechanic, he says I need to replace the carburettor. Further, the car has a small jerk when accerlerating as well. Any ideas on this? Does an AT170 do only about 8kms? Any real good mechanic to show this to who will not take me for a ride? I drive 50 kms daily 2/ Further, it has tinkering on the border of the front windscreen. There is no tinkering elsewhere, but the previous owner has done touchups on this without a proper repair coz he has wanted to abstain from removing the windscreen. I want to fix this for good. Any mechanics u guys recommend? 3/ The power steering rack has to be replaced. There are oil leaks on both sides, so need to get a replacement from delkanda. But again need a good reliable mechanic. there are plenty but i dont trust anyone of these blokes around. I bought the car for 7. I know it has the above issues, but the interior is pretty cool and it runns really well, and its deffa below market price. Please do suggest me any mechanics u know so that I can get the car done up to the mint condition. Really love the car for some car reason probably coz this is the first car i purchased with my cash

Hi guys, This is my first post here and I'm from Gampaha. This will be long but to make this easily readable I will write in brief as much as possible. I recently bought this 14 sri Peugeot 305 GL and it has some wierd symptoms Very sluggish to start. You need to crank about 6 or more times to start. Starting but engine doesnt hold on and soon dies. Sometimes it catches up but when I shift to first gear engine stops. I feel like petrol is not delivered to engine. Thought it as fuel pump but tested fuel delivery hose to carb and fuel spurts were good. So I'm guessing something's wrong with the carb, may be the former owner has adjusted mixture screws and carb volume controls or the jets may have clogged. Not sure how to reset these to good performing standards and I personally think installing a new japanese carburetor that goes with 1472cc engine capacity will be reliable.. Can someone name me good carbs for this engine? I dont like taking a risk running with the old carb..What you suggest should offer me the fuel economy pls. .............................. I prefer eplacing the engine with a new Japanese one with Auto Transmission. Can someone suggest me a place to get this done? What will be the best petrol EFI engine for this? What might be the cost? ........................... I also need to get a good paint job done as there are rust and decays in the boady. I talked to a friend in Malabe and he requests around 25 for tinkering and at car shine Negambo, for the paint they will charge around 170000. I think this is too much..Are there mobile painters who could come to your place and do the job? Please give me a way to contact them. Someone who does tinkering and painting together would be great,, .............................. There in my car I have a gas system which I want to be removed.. If someone wants that system I can sell. Does anyone have parts for Peugeot 305 GL? I need original side mirrors and AC system parts. Please help..Thanks

Hi All, I recently replace all the door rubber beadings which goes around the door in my 1978 lancer wagon. After replacing the beadings i was in trouble of getting the doors closed properly expect for one. So i went to tinker who adjust the doors and he had to do some body scrapping to make the correct gap for the new beadings since the previouse owner had done a tinkering job without replacing the beadings. For the front doors he had to remove the sider fenders (or may be called as mud guards) as well to adjust the door hingers. For this job the tinker took 3500 LKR. Does this price is exceptable or is it way too much for this job ? Thanks in advance, GAP.
