  1. Following a string of teasers, Toyota has officially revealed the 2014 Corolla in the U.S. specification. On numerous occasions Toyota said the new Corolla is going to take styling cues from the surprisingly attractive Furia concept, but the end result isn't nearly as impressive as the concept shown earlier this year at NAIAS. However, it's significantly more appealing than the outgoing generation which should boost sales even further. Sending a bit of a Honda vibe, the new Corolla comes as standard with LED low-beam headlamps and adopts a five-point lower front grille. The interior cabin is more evolved than what the predecessor has to offer and is more spacious thanks to a longer wheelbase which has increased by 3.93 inches (100 mm) to 106.3 inches (2700 mm). As a result of the elongated wheelbase, the 2014 Toyota provides an extra 2.95 inches of rear seat room. Exterior dimensions stand at 182.6 inches (4639mm) length, 69.9 inches (1776 mm) width and 57.3 inches (1455 mm) height, meaning the new Corolla is 3.90 inches (99 mm) longer, 0.63 inches (16 mm) wider and 0.39 inches (10 mm) lower than before. Front overhangs have increased by 0.90 inches (23 mm) to 37.7 inches (958 mm), while rear overhangs have been shortened by 0.94 inches (24 mm) to 38.6 inches (981 mm). The 2014 Toyota Corolla L, LE and S trim levels come with a 4-cylinder, 1.8-liter engine producing 132 bhp (98 kW), while the new LE Eco grade is powered by a 1.8-liter mill rated at 140 bhp (104 kW). Various gearboxes are available depending on trim level, with a six-speed manual for the L and S models, a seven-speed CVTi-S (continuously variable transmission intelligent-shift) for LE, LE Eco and S and an obsolete four-speed automatic for the entry-level L model. The Eco-badged model brings improved aerodynamics and rides on low-rolling resistance tires which enable a highway fuel economy of more than 40 mpg US (48 mpg UK or 5.8 liters / 100 km). This figure was possible by making extensive use of lightweight, high-strength steel which has kept the Corolla's curb weight at less than 2,900 lbs (1,315 kg). Standard equipment includes eight airbags, Bluetooth hand-free phone and audio-streaming connectivity, along with other equipment (depending on trim) such as back-up monitor, power moonroof, touchscreen radio, smart key / push-button start, SofTex seats and apps accessible via the audio head unit.
  2. So with our impending return to Japan we needed a little family run-around car. After much searching I decided on a Hilux Surf. I have owned several before and seemed like the best choice considering we lived on top of a mountain in Nagasaki which snowed rather heavily and two or three days during winter the roads didn't get cleaned up. So this was my choice...a 2000 HSurf, 56000kms on the clock (with service records).. but then...my wife goes and buys this... her reasoning ? Engine looks like Trueno's and it is a 6 manu-mission ( Japanese abbreviation for 6 speed manual transmission) and has done only 16000kms her final excuse...it looks cute...CUTE??? West-River apparently specializes in rare cars and as fate would have it the owner's brother runs a Trueno/Levin tuning shop . My wife is going to use this one on me for ages...

  5. Hi all, I'm trying to choose my first vehicle. I have no prior experience with vehicles. So far, Japan Alto is the vehicle I found that meets with my requirements. Following are my requirements. My budget is < 2.7 million. I will be daily traveling from Maharagama to Maradana and back A few (around 4) trips to anywhere in the country per year Low maintenance cost and fuel economy are my priorities I'm a bit reluctant to buy vehicles with high mileage due to the possibility of frequent repairs and low fuel economy. I don't like WagonR (Please mind my preference). Can I get some advice on this? Please suggest me some cars and any knowledge on Japan Alto. If I go with Japan Alto, which grade should I buy. ( L, S, X, Turbo RS ). Are price differences between grades really worth the price? Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

  9. සුසුකි සමාගමෛ් අලුත්ම නි‍ශ්පාදනය Suzuki Wagon R 2017 This is the most significant update in the design of the WagonR and Stingray ever since their launch and we are emphasising on the design because these are probably one of the quirkiest cars introduced by the Suzuki. The cars look a boxier now and the new styling further emphasises the tallboy stance of both the WagonR and the Stingray. New Suzuki WagonR Front In terms of styling, the new Suzuki WagonR features a new grille with a prominent chrome element flanked by new squarish headlamps. The front bumper is also new and comes with a large airdam and the bonnet has also been shortened. The Suzuki Stingray, on the other hand, has a very different face with a more edgy bonnet, Chevy-like two-part grille and angular headlamps. The front bumper also is new and a bit more muscular with a trapezoidal airdam and vertical foglamp housings on either side.
  10. Hi all, I bought a 2002 Japanese Alto 1 month back. This car was alright until yesterday night when I had to panic break to avoid a collision. I was travelling at around 40 kmph and the vehicle skid when I applied break. It felt like all the wheels locked up and the vehicle slid about 2 meters. The steering didn't work at this time. However, the car performs okay during slow breaking. Did any of you guys face this problem?? If so, how do you solve this. FYI, the ABS light doesn't come on in the dashboard.
  11. Hi everybody, I'm looking for a new vehicle to buy. I have done research and found there's no good quality vehicles to buy being in my budget which is maximum 2 million. There are some japanese cars but they looks very old (more than 15 years). And I'm not interested in alto even it's brandnew. So my question is whether I have possibility to import a car through auction or whatever for the above budget? If not, what will be the greatest opportunity to buy a car in here. Please help me. Thanks for taking time to tead this ☺.
  12. Hi all, My Japanese alto gave a slight clicking sound when turning the steering wheel (to the left) and accelerating. This sound was diagnosed as a CV joint failure by my mechanic. Therefore, we replaced the entire left side shaft along with the inner and outer CV joints. Brand new CV joints were not available and had to settle with second hand Japanese parts from Delkanda. However the sound was not sorted out. After another trip to the garage, the right shaft , joints and rack boots were replaced. This also resulted with no improvement of the sound. Now the odd part is that the mechanic is now suspecting a bush of the AT gear box as the cause. He is saying that I have to replace the entire gearbox in the worst-case-scenario. Have you guys experienced this type of an issue? If so, how do you diagnose this?
  13. ok guys, so im thinking about getting down a toyota noah 2007 from japan. Is it possible to bring down a vehicle from 2007 (9 years old)? How does the tax work? Thanks in advance.
  14. Hi guys, I recently came across three Japanese Alto's (YOM 2002 to 2004, 650 cc) with 4WD. One owner claimed that he removed the 4WD components to make the vehicle more fuel efficient. Therefore, my question to you experts is how 4WD effect the car's efficiency, performance and most importantly the resell value. All the three vehicles that I saw ranged from 1.7 to 1.8 million. Thanks in advanced.
  15. Hi friends, I am interested to buy a motorbike for daily usage such as travel short distance mostly and long distance once in a while. So I have no idea about which type would be most suitable for me because I know little about bikes. I see lots of Indian bikes on the road. But I prefer a Japanese one because its said to be durable, comfortable and long lasting. ( Don't really know though) So my requirements are; - Averagely economical - ( no need to be the most economical ) - Easiness of maintenance - ( Availability of spares rather than how cheaper they are ) - Handling - Ability to travel comfortably especially longer distances - 250cc could be most suitable - medium sized ( not too large ) So please suggest me brands or models to think about and find about. Thanks a lot in advance.
  16. Any body knows Japan Alto 2003 (HA23S) Shock Absorber Price ? Im looking for genuine parts. Thanks.
