  2. Guys, Any idea what this symbol is about? It’s in my friends 2015 Aqua
  3. Hi, I would like to get an advice on whether buying a hybrid vehicle (Vezel 2014/15 Aqua 2013/14 and FIT 2014/15) which has been used in sl for a while. Many of my friends say that all of them will be required to change the battery(most used ones have done more than 50000km). This could cost from Rs. 300k -700k. The other issue is apparently vezel has a gearbox issue that would cost approx 700k. As I see alot of these vehicles being available to buy, I am seeking advice if it is a good choice to do so. If so which model. If not any alternative that would fall below 4.3m
  4. I own a Honda Fit Hybrid car with year of manufacture as 2012(GP1). It's odometer reads 71000 km to the date. Speaking about the vehicle's history, it hasn't given me any issue till after the completion of 65000 km reading. As usual we all know that at around 40000km we need to replace the drive train oil or otherwise it gives the indication of HMMF(Honda Multi Matic Fluid) replacement. I performed the procedure when the vehicle was at 38000km mark and scanned and reset the vehicle's ECU. Since then the only replacement I have done for the vehicle was its 12V battery. Please note that almost all Honda Hybrid vehicle's doesn't have an alternator to charge the 12V battery, it is always charged from the High Voltage battery when the vehicle is started. So that if you encounter any problem with the high voltage battery, it stops charging the primary battery where the end result would be vehicle's total system failure. If you see the red battery light on in your display while you're driving it means your primary battery isn't charging form the secondary battery. First you check the fuse box for blown fuse and in most of the cases that would be the issue. Still after replacing the fuse you have to scan the ECU and reset the fault codes. If you ignore the CHECK BATTERY indication it will lead to IMA indication. There after the vehicle's ECU disconnects the High Voltage battery form the drive train for safety purposes. That is one of the ways you get the IMA indication on your vehicle. At around 60000km mark I encountered a new issue. The engine started to give a knock and the CHECK ENGINE light came on. Since it is not an issue for me to resolve I went to a professional for help. He scanned the vehicle for fault codes and informed me that there are some blockages in the fuel injectors and the engine is running lean. (Engine running lean means that the fuel injected to the chamber is ignited with excessive amount of air.) It could be either a problem with the fuel injectors or a problem with air intake. The professional informed me to go for an injector cleaning. The issue was no more after the injector cleaning process. Then came the high voltage battery overheating problem. The system scan showed that the HV battery cooling fan malfunction. We removed the battery and checked the fan separately and it worked fine. After consulting an Engineer at Honda we understood that the battery cooling fan works in 3 stages in Honda, depending on the heat produced by the battery. Due to some electronic failure in the fan driver it didn't change speeds. Therefore i had to replace the fan which cost me around 40000/= . Since then the car became even smoother to drive. The efficiency popped up to 20-22km/l and the high voltage battery bank was at 75% of its initial capacity even after 6 years from manufacture. If you have any information about the problems like this and their fixes I am keen to learn.
  5. A recent variant of the Yaris has emerged as Toyota Ativ and currently goes for around 6.5M brand new. Although its not a JDM model and is not assembled in japan, Is it worth the price rather buying a reconditioned Axio Hybrid (2016+) or Civic EX (2017-18 model) in terms of 1) Comfort 2) Reliability( Specially for continuous long distance driving) 3) Fuel efficiency 4) Acceleration, Ride comfort and Maintenance 5) Market Depreciation( since i run over 50K on each car i use, I don't look for profits but am concerned about the overall depreciation over time) Any expert advise would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

    Vezel Hybrid 2014 DCT Issues

I purchased my vezel hybrid 2014 back in February 2018 with 25k in odo. At first, everything runs smoothly. But one thing that I noticed recently is that after running through heavy traffic the gear shifting become much less smooth. Especially the first gear shifting becomes rough and usually takes longer to shift. Sometimes the whole car becomes jerky. I know that the hybrid version has DCT issue but i checked before purchase to ensure that it wasn't recalled. How to maintain DCT? It is going to be a huge issue for me because heavy traffic is very common in city life and I can't bypass that.

Honda Vezel Hybrid DCT Tranmission Oil Change

Are clutch oil and DCT transmission oil different in Vezel Hybrid? Do i have to change dct transmission oil only or have to change clutch oil too? As per my understanding two are different things and have to change both. TIA.
  9. Hi all, I am new here. I've been using a Honda Fit Shuttle (2012) for about five years, and thought of sharing some useful information I gathered about it, since my search here did not show much (or have I missed them?) Japanese User Manual, and there is no English manual since it is a domestic model. But Honda Jazz manual is quite useful for many aspects. Below video is how you enter the secret menu in internavi premium where you can change the time. Your player may be slightly different, but find the corresponding buttons from the attached image.

    Suzuki Swift Hybrid 2017?

Hi Guys, Anyone here using the new 2017 Suzuki Swift Hybrid? Any user experiences and comparisons with similar hatchback hybrids (eg. Aqua, Fit). TIA

  12. in my auto gear honda fit hybrid car, (mileage 56 000 KM) I had a engine tune up and changed my injectors (8 injectors) last month and after 2 weeks i started getting a slight knock (jerk or shaking). i remember i have had this once or twice in the last 6 month but it wasnt noticeable and looked like to be as a miss. anyway, now everyday morning when i start the car and drive for like half and hour or hour, it goes smooth and nice. and then in a while it gives the knock. (the time is not fixed, some days in 45 minutes, and some days in 30 minutes and sometimes in 20 minutes after first starting to drive it comes) The knock is like, when i stop at a traffic light and accelerate it comes. it only comes after a break or a stop and accelerate so it comes in low speed. then when driving with the knock, it gets a bit worst and knock (jerk or shaking) goes up, when i drive a little more it becomes more worse. then when i stop for few hours and start back then knock (jerk or shaking) is less and smoothness is bad. so i figured out this is something to do with a heat. when one of vehcile's part becomes very hot it gives the knock. so i went to a small mechanic and as advised changed my Gear box oil (ATF). it didnt fix the issue. then i took it to Honda company by when i got a check engine light and they told to run without the EGR valve, then i did it that and noticed that knock (jerk or shaking) is 50% less but car is not at all smooth. (it takes too much power and was hard) i felt so when driving. then they told to clean it the EGR and drive as the Honda company diagnosed EGR valve is causing trouble. after cleaning it didnt work, so as they told i changed the EGR valve which costed around 500$. And then my vehicle was super smooth and very very comfortable to drive. later after few hours of driving here comes the same knock (jerk or shaking). which confused me. apart from that the honda company told this is not a problem with gear box, (which means they told its not a judgger) Then i took it back to my local bass as he suspected it can also sometimes cause with fault fuel pump. then i changed that too. still the issue is not fixed. Now after having a small internet research i found this is a bit common issue, but only issue is finding the exact issue is difficult. Now i am confused what to do, Company told they will need to remove the transmission and see in the worst case. some times if its a damaged flyweel it can happen. so before taking it to any place anymore to repair i just want to get an experts advise here. Should i check in to these things ? Spark Plug Wires or Spark Plug Starter clutch ignition coil | coil packs motor mount flywheel I really appreciate any feedback that will help me to sort out this issue.

    Honda Hybrid Battery status clarrification

Hi guys, Today I went and did a full inspection of a Honda Vezel (which I intended of buying) from [email protected]#rd motors. This vehicle is a 2017, 0 millage unregistered one. The summary of the status report is as below. SOC - 35% HV Battery total voltage - 168.75 HV Battery usable capacity - 50% HV Battery cell votage range - 3516.00 mV to 3519.00 mV The supervising official said that the car was in excellent condition after the report. However my issue is why is the "Usable capacity" only 50%. I did a google search and found out that vehicles have around 70% usable capacity. Therefore, my question to you is whether these values are normal for a Vezel/Fit? Thanks in advance.
  14. I got an error on my Insight's display screen (in Japanese) and I think I need to change my HMMF (Honda Multi Matic Fluid) Need advice.. can I just use normal CVT oil? If not where can I get it done except for the agents? Thanks

A Brand New for lesser than 6mil.

Any Ideas for a brand new vehicle for family use between 4-5.5mil? We had a 2009 Honda Insight for several years, bought it on second market. Under this economic condition is there anyway to get a decent vehicle(an upgrade of course) without any compromises?
  19. Hello everyone, Hope you guys are doing good. I really need your speciality regarding this matter. I want to buy a good vehicle around 4M. What vehicle will you suggest?
  20. Hey Guys First of all I know the Honda fit has been extensively discussed multiple times on this forum but do bear with me and hear me out since this is a bit of a specific clarification. I would value your opinions and ideas regarding this. So I'm a little paranoid when it comes to buying used cars and I am more comfortable if I was to buy a trusted friends vehicle. Given the fact that what we get for about 3.5 Mil plus these days are tiny 3 pot keis I have no option but to go for a used car. I'm not overly concerned on fuel consumption or resale but more focus on Maintenance costs (i.e I don't want to do a 300,000 rs repair out of the blue) and Durability. The other aspect is of course the better performer in terms of Handling, Acceleration etc. Two of my friends are migrating and their cars are up for grabs here are the two choices : Exhibit A: Honda Fit GP1 2013 : 55,000 + KM's, first owner agent maintained , Daily driver impeccable interior, few minor day-to-day scratches and a couple of negligible dents. Cruise control etc. No paddle shift. No apparent issues mechanically (no symptoms that are common with this model.....YET!) Guy's a bit of a car guy who loves his ride I think i can get this for around 3.5 Exhibit B : Honda Fit Gp5 2013 : 45,000 KMS first owner maintained at some other place, F or L package , good interior, few scars on the bumper. Ex Daily driver now weekend tripper and used by friends wife to tug kids to school Again no apparent issues - again an honest bloke and I think despite being the newer model I can get it for between 3.6 and 3.8 Mill which i think is a bit of a deal as it seems this model usually goes for higher. Now my questions. how reliable are these two models? And If i want to avoid any costly repairs and want reliability (along with lower maintenance costs day to day) which of these should i go for.??? What is the more fun car to drive and what is more suited to our pot-hole ridden roads? Overall which would be easier to live with? Any potential headaches I should expect? I would be driving a fair bit close to 2000 KMS a month - majority City and expressway but constantly will travel out-station too - therefore do you guys think I would be better off looking at something that can handle the poor roads a bit better in the same budget like a Daihatsu Terios? I've heard it's quite rugged but I feel it's a bit bland. Thanks in advance folks.
  21. I recently purchase a Toyota Aqua 2013 model which has done 62000Km Couple of days later the 'Check hybrid system' and 'Check Engine' indicators were shown. After taking to Toyota Lanka, I got a system scan done and the error code was P0A80, which is for Replace Hybrid battery pack. They identified the issue to be a voltage drop in one of the battery cell. They recommended to do a battery service, but while removing the battery they found the battery has already been serviced as well. For the moment I have temporarily got the code deleted. This is temporary and the error will appear again (I got it twice). The recommended solution is to replace the battery pack. Agent price is extremely expensive, but few other places said it would cost around 200,000. I wanted to know if replacing the problematic cell would be a good option? has anyone done this? if so what are the good places which this can be done. I spent 4 Million for the car and don't have another 200K at the moment. Anyone got any solution?
  22. Hi all, For all who might find the below helpful. Cheers! Instrument cluster translation from Japanese to English: Download - user manual: http://www.suzuki.co.jp/car/owners_manual/files/2_99011-52R02_20170906035005.pdf
  23. Hi Guys, I am looking to buy a car (preferably a 7 seater/Hybrid) for below 5 Million. What options I have? I am looking for fuel efficient vehicle as well. How about Honda Feed? is it a good option? Please let me know if any other good options you have. Thanks
  24. Hi, I'm planning to buy my 1st car. I was interested in hybrid and EV models hoping they would be more economical but after reading some threads here it seems I'm wrong. I was looking about Toyota Aqua, Honda Fit (GP5), Honda Freed and Nissan Leaf(seems not so reliable for long journey) and seen more negative comments than I thought. I don't know much about cars(even my parents didn't have one) and I would like to here the opinions/suggestions from the experts. Below are some of my concerns. This is going to be my 1st car. Would be better if the maintenance is easier and economical in terms of maintenance and fuel consumption. I don't want to invest a lot in a vehicle. I prefer to have good resale value in case I want to switch to an EV model once it become more reliable here. My budget is 4m, but can go little up if it's worthy (have to obtain personal loan for around 2.5/3m). I would love if I can get something below that budget as I don't like paying lot of interest for a loan and loan interest rates are high now. Minimum of 5 seats and good boot space. Would love if 6/7 seater available at this price (like Honda Freed). I would prefer safer ones with 5 or 8 airbags (because in most cases would be driven with all seats occupied) Most of the time will be driven in Colombo city and would take for long journey on vaccations/special occasions. Love to have latest features in the interior. In terms of exterio body shape, I dont like box types(like in Suzuki Every) but that wouldn't be a deciding factor. More concerned about interior than exterior.
