  1. I have a Toyota Axio 2014 hybrid which has done about 36K km. My vehicle is making a weird clunking sound when accelerating while making a right turn. It doesn't happen all the time though. Accelerating without turning makes no sound and also just making a right turn without stepping on the accelerator makes no sound. It's only when making a turn and accelerating at the same time the sound is heard. Anyone else has faced this issue or have an idea about it? Also anyone know of any good place to get this checked out near Kotte area? Thanks in advance.
  2. I am looking for a 2nd hand factory fitted reverse camera for my Axio WxB (2019 model) as my car didn't come with it. Is there any recommended place I should go (I know that naming a place may violate forum rules as advertising within the forum. But it is appreciated if you can tell me the land marks near the shop. Then I can find it). I visited more than 10 spare parts shops around Delkanda area and did not find the genuine Toyota reverse camera. At one place, I found it. But they wanted to sell the complete boot door. Also if you can recommend me a good alternative camera with perfect night vision, that is also OK since I drive/reverse too much at night. Aside from that, if anyone knows the catalog part number for Axio NKE165 Hybrid reverse camera (may be in the form of 86790 - xxxxx) please let me know. Then I can order online, if I am unable to find it here. Thanks.
  3. Hi everyone, I feel a jerk when pressing the accelerator at low speeds in my axio 2008. This often happens when car is traveling at about 10 - 30 kmph and when i take the foot out of the accelerator and then start again to accelerate. Just when i start to accelerate car jumps a little. I also found a same thread with this problem here. http://autolanka.com/forums/topic/13402-toyota-axio-jerkingvibration-problem/ This is kind of exactly my problem too. But unfortunately i couldn't find an answer there. I took it to two mechanics and they couldn't say anything exactly and they suggests things like engine tune-up. Is there anyone who faced the same problem ? what could this be ?
  4. Hi guys, I've been feeling an odd ride in my 2007 Axio 141 for some time now and the replacement of various parts and multiple inspections have not really helped. The feeling I get is of that, that the car is not stable at high speeds (60+). It gives a feeling that the car is not 'planted' to the road and you do not have confidence in making sharp turns. Car has done 160k, genuine mileage. It's on its second set of shocks - having replaced the originals with KYBs at 90k mileage. However, many inspections revealed no issues. Tires are Michelin Energy Saver (UK) with plenty of tread left and all suspension components are within their life limits. I've most recently replaced my lower arm bushings, which did not resolve the issue. Tried several different alignment places to no avail. And multiple checks by technicians have confirmed no play in the rack and pinion steering. This has driven my focus to whether this could be a shocks related issue - which gives the feeling or sensation that the car is 'floating' whilst it actually is tracking fine. I've come to realise that the driver's side of the car (particularly when no passengers other than the driver is on board) tends to feel lower particularly when overtaking another vehicle (ie - on the side of the road which is sloping down). A crude check of ground height -when not under load - revealed that the front right wheel base height is approximately one inch lower than the other three. I've tried to get the issue checked at multiple places - but they all suggest that I remove the shocks for inspection whilst prepared for replacement. While I'm ok to do so - I feel it's better to have another opinion as I've found that most places will try to 'sell' you new shocks. Does this sound like a worn shocks issue? Or could it actually be the springs? I do not want to replace the shocks if it is something else - like the springs - as the new shocks will 'mask' the real issue for some time before it crops up again. Your opinion is highly appreciated.

    Hybrid or Non Hybrid

Dear Sir, I stick rigidly to Toyota, My budgetary provision is 4 to 4.2 m. I do not intend to purchase any, which YOM before 2013. I do hesitate to buy Hybrids as it has come to controversy in terms of battery life and other periodical electrical and mechanical defects/maintenance. Thus I am looking for Toyota Axio non hybrid. Please advise me, if my conclusion is justifiable.

    Electric water pump

Hi, I own a Toyota Corolla Axio NKE 165 (2014). I have some query regarding the cooling system. Your kind advise and input would be highly appreciated. On Friday, 8/March, when I started the car in the afternoon it was making some unusual noise and I had my mechanic come over and see the car. He claimed that the A/C motor was the cause and advised that I replace it. Also, the front shock absorbers were worn out, so the A/C fan with the shock absorbers were replaced and the car was handed to me on Saturday (next day). After which, I went for a short drive and everything seemed normal. On Sunday, 10/March, I took the car and set off down the Katunayake highway towards Kandy, when I noticed an error message on the dashboard that read “check engine water / coolant level”. This error message popped up near the exit toll gate, so I drove to the nearest fuel station, about 1 to 2 km away, and checked my engine (the Coolant reservoir tank, not by opening the radiator cap). I was shocked to see that there was no coolant in the reservoir tank at all. Later, I handed over the car to the mechanic and he is claiming that it is an issue with the “engine water pump” and that it needs replacement. My query is; 1. How can all the coolant be lost suddenly? (note - there are no visible leaks including in the engine) 2. According to the mechanic, he claims that if the engine water pump stops working, then the coolant will overflow from the radiator/reservoir tank and it will be lost (his explanation for an empty coolant reservoir tank). Is this true? Can this happen? 3. Could all of this be due to some fault/error made by the mechanic during replacement of the A/C fan motor (as this fan also plays a vital role in the cooling process, according to somethings I read)? Please note, there has been never an instance, before this, when the coolant level has been low. All this issue started after the replacement of the A/C fan motor. Your kind advise would be a great help. Thank You, Best Regards.

    [Features] Axio VS Grace

Heard Axio has features like Toyota Safety sense C which includes lane departure warning, automatic high beams, radar brakes. Can anybody tell me Grace has these features? Also from which year and models onwards these features available in both models?
  10. A recent variant of the Yaris has emerged as Toyota Ativ and currently goes for around 6.5M brand new. Although its not a JDM model and is not assembled in japan, Is it worth the price rather buying a reconditioned Axio Hybrid (2016+) or Civic EX (2017-18 model) in terms of 1) Comfort 2) Reliability( Specially for continuous long distance driving) 3) Fuel efficiency 4) Acceleration, Ride comfort and Maintenance 5) Market Depreciation( since i run over 50K on each car i use, I don't look for profits but am concerned about the overall depreciation over time) Any expert advise would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
  11. I need a guide to program steering wheel controls. My car has a button which has “Mode” function and on the same button “Hold to mute”. Axio Hybrid So, How do I program this player for the both functions?

  14. Hello guys, Finally I’m happy to say that after many years, I’m going to sell my car and buy an Axio Luxel Alpha. So the car is owned by one of my father’s closest friends and he is the first owner. He personally imported and maintained the car well. At the moment the car has only two issues. One is the famous dashboard cracking problem. Other one is a bad Right side front shock absorber. I have driven the car previously and man that thing pulls hard.So I used my 121 during the same period of mileage but since this has a different engine and a gearbox, I have a doubt about maintaining it. So please give your advice. The car has done nearly 120k kms 1.Do I need to change the CVT gear oil? 2.Where can I get the dashboard problem sorted out and how much will it cost? Most of the advertisements in famous sites have quoted 20k.Is is for the repair or replacement?Which is the best option? 3.I previously used B/new KYB shocks for my 121 and I felt that they are pretty hard.So one of my friends said to use good reconditioned shock absorbers. He also uses them for his 110.If then where is the best and trusted place to buy them?Do I need to replace both right and left ones? 4.The car currently has rim cups.I plan to replace them with original alloys that came with it.Where can I find reconditioned original alloy wheels? 5.Other than that, what are the general maintainence stuff I have to do after purchasing? 6.Is there any known issues for this prticular model? -One more question.Does the Luxel handles better than the G and X versions?Someone has mentioned about a rear stabilizer bar previously in the forum. Is it true?I never had the chance to push it to the limits😃 So finally I have to let go my good old 121 baby.Since she gave me no troubles during her 6 1/2 year stay, I hope the next owner will have to worry about nothing.I also touched 180kmph twice and the car felt well planted and no stability issues came. Just a bit sad to let her go😐 Cheers🤟🤟🤟
  15. Dear All, I have a Toyota axio 2007 model. Couple of months back, there was a switching issue in my a/c. ( A/C did no work properly. It switched off when car is cool but didn't switched on when needed). When I present this to Auto A/C expert they said me that there is a problem in A/C compressor valve. And also is a specific failure for Axio and Allion models. Has any of here experienced this type of problem with Axio or Allion car. Please advice me.

  17. I know this topic has been discussed some time ago. My budget is around 3.5 - 3.7Mil. Looking for a family vehicle. If there are maintenance records, (Toyota Lanka, Laugfs etc.) what will be the good choice considering the present market for reselling, as family is bit concerned about it too. Any other alternatives? Brand new? Hope this info will be useful to others too. Thanks in advance.
  18. My car is axio hybrid 2014,,I service it two days back in Ratmalana Toyota lanka.I went 80 km in highway & suddenly engine stop without prior indicators.I try to start but fail to do so.At that time engine malfunction bulb displayed.Ultimately I have to bring the vehicle by carrier. What may be the cause
  19. Hi I am currently thinking about buying a Mitsubishi Verada 2002 car. Is there anyone who knows about this vehicle? I want to know followings. It has a 3500cc engine a. How is the fuel consumption? b. any known issues with the engine? c. How is driving experience? d. Spareparts availability and cost. e. Any genuine advices are welcome Thank you dear experts
  20. Finally i’m ready to sell my good old 121 (budget is okay?) and move on to something new. A close friend of mine owns an Axio Luxel 2007 model, which was imported and used by himself. He also plans to sell it and go for Axio Hybrid. I have the idea to go for that Luxel because I have driven it a couple of times and car is in mint condition, except the dashboard which needs a replacement due to the cracking issue. Also the front suspension needs repairs. Other than that the car is in perfect condition. No dents.Body and interior are perfect. He maintained the car regularly and loves it. Luxel has a good option list like tiptronic, auto parking, pre crash safety and radar cruise control (not even available in 2017 premio/allion).And also I like the 1.8l engine. The only thing that keeps me pulling away is the mileage of 112k kms. What are the running repairs I might face if i bought this? Is it a risk to buy this car instead of going for an unknown civic fd1 with low mileage?(civic might be better in terms of handling, but power wise both might be equal) Please share your valuable ideas Cheers???
  21. Planning to buy a vehicle ASAP. I have narrowed down my selection to following (they are all Toyota..call me a racist) For now I'm swaying between Vitz and Axio. Your opinion is greatly appreciated. Most of the travelling will be on Highway and off roads nearly 1500 km per month in total. 1. Toyota Vitz 2016/2017 (1000CC) 2. Toyota Axio 2007/2008 3. Toyota Belta/Yaris 2011
  22. Submitted by Benjamin Yong on September 30th, 2016 Toyota's Hybrid Synergy Driver technology powers each one of the company's hybrid vehicles. We all know the Toyota Prius family of vehicles are fuel-efficient. Some may even know it’s because of the automaker’s Hybrid Synergy Drive (HSD) system that powers every hybrid model. But how does it work? Find out below. At the core of HSD is a twin motor-engine setup. A gasoline engine acts as the primary means of propulsion and an electric motor provides backup power and recovers surplus energy. The computer automatically switches between the two to deliver maximum fuel efficiency and a comfortable driving feel. Let’s dive a little deeper into the technology. When the vehicle is initially started up and all the way up to the mid-speed range, engine efficiency is at its poorest. As a result, the gasoline powerplant is shut off and the car runs solely off the high-output electric motor. During normal cruising, the main power switches over to the warmed up engine running at high efficiency, which directly drives the wheels. A generator is also engaged — via a built-in device that splits and diverts engine output — to produce electricity for the motor. In scenarios calling for rapid acceleration like passing on the highway, power is supplied simultaneously from both sources to boost performance. As soon as it’s time to slow down, the process happens in reverse. While the driver lets off the accelerator and/or gets on the brakes, the wheels turn the motor, now operating as a generator, converting rotational and braking energy into additional electricity used to charge a high capacity battery. This is known as regenerative braking. When the battery level dips down to a low level, the engine switches on the generator to begin the recharge cycle, ensuring the system maintains a healthy charge for optimum operation
