  1. This is an excerpt from an old technical service bulletin (TSB). Although the main purpose of the TSB is not relevant to us (we are a tropical country), there is a valuable part in it that is relevant to us. Everyone knows that tire pressure increases when a tire heats up, but we do not know its numerical value. This graph is a good solution for that ..... (Its true that this is for few Toyota models but we could use this until we find a most suitable one for other models) Let us forget the ambient temperature difference axis (Axis 5) in this graph and consider only the points where the 0 F line intersects (0 F line along the axis 4). This gives a clear idea of how much more air pressure needed depending on the temperature variation of the tire in the three cases 1,2,3 when we inflate the tires. For example: In case of Cold Tire - Recommended psi value is required In case of Warm Tire - 2 psi more than recommended is required In case of Hot Tire - 4.5 psi more than recommended is required Note: Normally, the sticker pasted on door jamb shows the recommended "cold tire pressure" . Please find full TSB by this link for your further reference. https://attachments.priuschat.com/attachment-files/2015/10/96267_T-SB-0345-08.pdf
  2. I am planning to buy 4 new tyres for my Toyota 121 car. Can you please tell me some good tyre brands which can buy for affordable price.I heard Maxxis tyres are worth for the money. Is it true? To get the maximum ride comfort what tyre size should i select?
  3. I have a problem with left hand side of the tires of my car. Frequently the air level is dropping. First this was happend left-front wheel, when I checked the tire (alloy wheel) with U_H wheel at Malay Street. Tire shop guy told me there is a leak between the edges of the tire and rim. The alloy wheel was given some kind of repair by them and OK for about two weeks. However once again the problem is there. Rear-left alloy wheel also now have the same problem. When I checked for possible “patches” in the tires, they were ok. Can anyone help me please. Thanks.
  4. Yesterday when Im going back home, I noticed that left side rear tire is completely flat. Unfortunately, I have already driven 2-3 kms before realizing the situation. Anyhow, as a result I ended up stranded nowhere deep in Neluwa at around 9 PM which was a very frustrating situation. The bloody tire repair kit also did not work (the puncture seem to be too large so air escaped through the hole), so I had to park the car in a strangers home and find my way back home which was 25km away. Enough ranting! I have to somehow fix the tire. Car has already clocked 13k Kms within 5 months of purchase as I travel a lot. What are my options? Do I need to get a new tire? Which will cost about 45k (which is a considerable sum considering my current financial status). If so will it unbalance the car as other 3 tires are a bit worn off now? Can I repair the tire with vulcanizing or some other method and continue to use it? (I like this option, as it is cheap). Will it be a risk causing another possible puncture deep in the boonies, considering I travel great miles in rural areas? I need to buy a spare wheel. What kind of options do I have? How much it will cost? Your valuable feedback is highly appreciated. Thank you.
  5. Hi Experts I need some advice for my tires. I have read lots of threads related to this topic on the forum. But i need expert advice to replace my tires. When i brought my car one year ago it was fixed with brand new 4 tires. It was Chinese brand (BCT S600) and i knew previous owner fixed those just to sell the car. I am a daily runner average 40 km per day and now done 12000km. treads of the all 4 tires are totally gone and every time i visit to Tyre shops for check air or wheel alignment they says the tires are bad and rubber is very hard. But i know it can run further few thousand kilo meters. The my question is this is the reason for low riding comfort and high road noise i am experiencing form my car? The recommended Tyre size is 165/65/R15 but existing size is 185/65/R15 is this also a reason? Can i get noticeable difference if i replace the tires with good brand and correct size. also previous owner has replaced the original alloy wheels with Chinese brand ( I don't know why hell he was done it) is that make trouble when put correct Tyre size? Is this Chinese BCT S600 is actually bad brand? what are the good quality tire brands for my car. Car is Chevrolet Cruze. Advises are highly appreciated.
  6. Car model: JDM Toyota Corolla 121 2005 Tire that were installed when I'm purchasing the car was 175/70R14 . Now the car tires need replacing, and I need some advice getting a new tire set. As for the tire information (If I read this info correctly, which I'm not sure) this indicates two main tire sizes which are 175/70R14 and 185/70R14. I always had the problem with ground clearance with this car, I'm hoping get 185/70R14 tire set that some what increase the ground clearance. I need advice/ clarification before purchasing this tire set. Will this tire fit to my current rim set ? If it does, Will changing result these scenarios? ODO meter reading Tire rubbing What do you guys think?
