Hi all, I’m planning to buy my first car. I know it is not a good time when it comes to buying vehicles these days but after waiting years struggling to collect money now Im finally there and I really need a vehicle. Found this forum recently so thought this is a good place to get some advices from experienced people. I don’t have much experience with vehicles as this is going to be the first car in the family too, so please be kind when advising if I’m being stupid 🙂. To be honest I will not have to drive this car daily. I’m a Software Engineer and I work from home. So mostly I will drive this car in short distances regularly but plan to go on trips with the family so reliability is important. My max budget is 4.5M. And as this is my first car I’m planning to go for a small car so my choice is a hatchback. So far I have done some research and my choices are Swift (beetle) & Mazda Demio. I know these cars are old but with my small budget this is what is there. Maybe I can go for a 2014 wagonr? But I don’t like the look. But yeah fuel consumption and maintenance cost is also must be considered but as far as I got to know Swift is not good in fuel economy even though that is my 1st choice. Some says Demio does better in fuel consumption and I already read some threads here but Swift still feels like it has more features than the Demio (Please advise if I’m wrong). So guys, What are your opinions on my choices and do you think there’s a better car for my needs?

Hello there good people at AL, I'm a random 18 year old looking to buy my first car (this will the first car of our family also, we have never had cars xd) Talking about the purpose mostly this will be my weekly driver to the Capital and Galle and also the daily driver in the busiest roads in Colombo. I prefer the look over fuel economy haha (mostly what teenagers r looking here) So I got few options that all of them I really like any suggestions from you geeks? 1. Aqua 2013 2. Axio 2008 3. Civic FD4 4. Corolla 141 5. Accord 2008 6. Yaris 2008 7. Swift 2008 What you people think and another thing I really wanna consider is less hassel in the garages, just coz I will be extremely busy with studys and job and all. I saw an old Mini Cooper (2002) must be one of earliest BMW ones in this range. I really like that look, as I heard from the internet the new BMW generations of mini are not the very best built. Before this price bubble I was looking for an Audi A1 but they all are now priced in 9mil range

Hey guys so this is my first post in the forum and I'm thinking of logging everything I'm doing for the car in this thread. So this is my first car, it's a 2008 Nissan Teana j32 with a VQ25DE engine. The car has 111k km on the clock and still runs smoothly. The previous owner had everything documented (services,part invoices) so I'm a bit lucky there. I'm about to do my first service and I'm thinking of doing a full fluid flush including the CVT oil as well. So my aim is to make this car as luxurious as possible that includes suspension change and anything that makes the ride comfort pristine. Throw me any questions or tips regarding my mission and I hope to update everything happens to the car regularly. Cheers✌️

I'm looking for a vehicles under 2.7m (Preferably). Currently my choices with the current market conditions are, Nissan March AK12 (2007) Suzuki Swift (2003) Suzuki Wagon R (2016) Nissan N17 (I'll have to flex my wallet a bit but doable) Nissan Wingroad Y12 (I'll have to flex my wallet a bit but doable) I'm looking to drive in Colombo with rare trips downsouth. Fuel economy is a concern but I'd really like to stay away from garages as much as possible. Please advise me on these choices.

So This will be my first ? vehicle and my budget is 3.5 million. I Like Honda Fit GP5 but kinda concern about dual clutch issue. What should be great vehicle to buy for this budget. can you guys recommend vehicle with good second hand market.( Or not ? ).

Hi Folks, I'm hoping to go for a Honda fit Gp5 (below 70k mileage) as my first car. I have a few questions in mind, - Is it a good idea to go for a fit at the mileage as the first car ? - What should i look out for in terms of possible big issues(mechincal, electronic etc)? - Any general advice around the honda fit hybrid engines ? like do they give issues at that mileage or when they pass 100k etc. and suggestions and any other general advice :) Thanks in advance :)

Hi, thinking of buying my first car and my budget is around 2 mil, i will be driving about 1600km/month it’s very logical to go with the perodua but my heart says Cs1. Any other options to consider? Eagerly waiting for valuable inputs in order for me to make up my mind!

My budget is around 2.3M which is kind of a low one but looking for a good second-hand car as my first vehicle. I would highly appreciate your guide and tip on that. Hi all Need an advice on buying my first car. Just a brief intro about me, i currently rice a Jade 250cc m.bike. My first bike was a Honda Spada 250, hence the reasons to some of my options which o looked at. The car details. 1. Price- maximum 1.8/1.9 mn unfortunate. 2. Travel area- mostly negombo, gampaha, nugegoda, homagama etc. 3. Fuel economy- can be managed, nothing horrendous. 4. And yes i like to go fast. 5. Options (which i thought are good)- ck1/2, eg8, proton gen 2, Peugeot 406. So please do advise me, and if you can offer better options than those i don't mind. Thanks in advance!!

Hi one of my cousin is looking for his first car. What he like is a Nissan Presea car which has the 301-xxxx number. Even it has a similar engine of FB14, I thought the car is bad for a first car because of it's rare body parts, frame less doors etc. I prefer a 110 or CK2 or FB14 over that. What is your opinion on that? PS - He dont have a much knowledge about auto mobile.

Dear All, I am planning to buy a car around 1M. That will be my first car. I am not expert in this field. I really hope you will help me on this. I know my budget is very tight and i don't have many options. I prefer Toyota or Nissan Brands. First I thought of buying a Trad Sunny. But I don't like that shape. So now I am thinking of buying a AT170.Is that a good choice? What about the fuel consumption of AT170? Maintenance charges of AT170? I want to resell that car within 1 year. So what will be the market demand for AT170? are their any vehicles from other brands(Ex:honda,mazda, or any other.. ) better than AT100 to buy around 1M Please help me on this
