Hi all, I thought of sharing what I have found(not something new) but, I think most Civic EK owners dont know(I might be wrong, but people I talked didnt know about it) So this all begins with me experiencing that my EK3's clusters were barely visible at night, stock back-lights only light up the numbers of all dials and not having glow needles make it hard to read where the needles are pointing at night, specially, the temp needle. At 1st I thought of fitting a glow gauges, but it didnt feel right, so thought of upgrading the stock bulbs with LEDs and followed the instructions of this youtube to remove the cluster panel.Cluster panel was back-lit using 2 - T10s and 3 - T5s, so all you have to do is replace them with relevant LEDs. (If you are buying LEDs, go for SMD 5050 insted of SMD 3528 which has high intensity of light) and during this process, I found out that, my civic's cluster panel has a front lit system, which allows light coming from front of the cluster panels, and enables to read all clusters. It has 2 T3 bulbs (I marked the place by arrows in the pic in below link) Pic one So this is how it looks like at night,(pic is not clear, but, its really clear for naked eye) Pic two Pic three And I learned it in the hard way, because, my T10 LEDs were SMD 5050 while T3s were SMD 3528, thats why you can see there is a difference between the brightness. So, by changing these 2 bulbs will increase the visibility of you clusters and you dont need to spend like 6k to go for glow gauges. Cheers And sorry if this is something which is a well known fact.

Hi everyone this is my first forum post and it's reguarding my very own first car When I was a teenager I had the luxury of riding Mitsubishi Pajero (1989), L200, Lancer Box, Nissan N16, Doctor Sunny, Bluebird (Diesel), Peugeot 406,407, Freelander and none of them gave me the beautiful experience of riding a 1995 Vtec Honda Civic Ex (EG) car. I almost learned all the driving tactics on Sri Lankan roads on this vehicle as my father owned it. I loved it's unique balance between horsepower and fuel consumption which was 15kmpl within Kandy city roads. I dreamt of having it for a lifetime but my dad had to sell it as he needed a four wheel for his travels. Years later I saw the same car in bits and pieces in a garage as the second owner had tried to modify the vehicle in a very cheap form and then met with a major accident and the vehicle had to be sold for parts. I never felt so sad for machine like that before, and here I am now trying to get a same car just to revive my wild and free good times by buying a Civic to myself I truly like to go for an EG but since that model is too old I'm confused with buying either ES or EK series? My aspects for a good car is: 1. Fuel Consumption (>12 within city limits, >15 on highway) 2. Price < 2.2 Million 3. Low maintennance cost 4. Vtec engine HP>100 5. Sporty Look (optional) When it comes to fuel efficiency , I heard that Lancer CVT has a good kmpl count (15-18KMPL) but didn't go for it because of the memories I had with a Civic and when it comes to looks Civic wins. I truly like to go for an EG but since that model is too old I'm confused with buying either ES or EK series. Which one is the best when t comes to my requirement ?

Best Choise Of Cars For Budget Of 1.9 - 2 Million
Pasan Gunawardena posted a question in Car Buying Information
Hi guys, im eagerly looking to buy my first car. when it comes to cars my knowledge is zero n grasp things soon as possible. for now my budget is 1.9mil. and max i may extend to 2mil. im mainly looking for the sporty looks without no modifications, fuel and maintenance costs. n i will be travelling mostly within colombo in traffic. so for now my preferences are Mitsubishi Lancer CS1/CS2 2003 model and Honda ES1 or ES8. i have been tracking prices n what i realized is ES is expensive. i know that EK3 is in the market for my budget but the YOM is before 2000 in most cars. so what i want to know is from the above models, what is the best. and if im to choose between manual to auto what do u recommend. personally i dont have an issue with manual. n any important tips to look for when buying a second hand vehicle is much appreciated since im totally blank on this. Thanks Mates
