I’M Trying to buy a Toyota Hiace ( made between 1989 -2004 ) I’m bit confused with the models available can someone explain to me about the models and its differences? I’m just adding some information I collected so it could be useful for someone, please feel free to correct me if I’m wrong My breakdown provides a comprehensive understanding of the model codes and their meanings for the Toyota Hiace H100 series LH = Diesel Engine RZH = Petrol Engine LH1 or RZH1 = it is H100 series LH10 (Second No 0 means ) = Standard Weelbase LH11 (Second No 0 means ) = Long Week base LH12 (Second No 2 means ) = Super Long wheel base LH16 (Second No 6 means ) = 5L engine LH17 (Second No 7 means ) = 5L engine Long wheel base LH18 (Second No 8 means ) = 5L engine with Super Long Wheel base LH11(0-4) or LH10(0-4) (3rd No between 0-4 means ) = 2 WD Drive LH11(5-9) (3rd No between 5-9 means ) = 4 WD Drive With this i have a doubt as what is the difference between LH102 and LH103 ? Can someone explain the factors that decides the value of this van? as per my knowledge # 4 door van is valuable then a 5 door van in Sri Lanka # 2 WD drive van is valuable then a 4WD Drive # Manual gear van is valuable then a Automatic gear van

Hi Folks, I bought a KE 74 recently (a week before). When i was buying i checked oil dipstick and oil cap there was no issues. But after changing the oil to 15W-40 in the service, it started to spit some oil in dipstick.. Also its struggling to start in the morning. But after starting there are no issues such as engine miss when running, white smoke and no oil or coolent decrease. Also noticed that oil leaks in the plug Is this symptoms of engine under compression? TIA

Hi AL, Thought I'd share photos of my KE72V. Technically it's my father's but unofficially it's mine A little history on this- my father imported this KE72V DX in 1989 with 40,000kms on the ODO. It's been with us ever since! The milage now is a little over 141,000kms and it still purrs along without any issues. I'm in the process of restoring it to factory original specification but I'd love to replace the stock K40 transmission with a k50 (5speed) transmission. I would if I could find one for cheap! I've even got the original seat covers! (I'm looking for another set, let me know if any of you good KE72 owners want to sell yours!) Instrument cluster- Future plans- I've already wet-sanded the entire body with 1500grit sandpaper in anticipation of a cut/polish job. Sadly that was a few months back and I spent all the money I had on another project! I'm hoping to cut/polish the paint soon. Both rear lamp lenses are cracked and missing bits so I'm searching for new lenses. My car is missing the fan shroud (better known as the 'radiator cover') that is essential for the factory AirCon to work. I've given up looking for an original so I'm going to try and get one scratch built. That's about it, hope you enjoyed my ride as much as I do! Thanks for stopping by and regards, Jay. EDIT: I moved all my photos of the '72 to a separate album in Photobucket so had to repost the direct links. Hope they turn up!
